If Texas tech completed their purchase of a national title

Would this be good or bad for curtailing the issues in cfb? At first it could be a disaster with every medium sized school in America thinking they can buy a title and I would think money would get worse. On the other hand that might finally lead to action. When Ohio state won, even though they purchased their team it’s easier to sort of ignore that because we are used to osu being a top tier program capable of winning anyway. But Texas tech winning it all would be totally different.
Kinda like Ted Debiase purchasing the wwf title by hiring the services of Andre the giant

Colleges are gonna just spend more and more till the system collapses.

Saban wasn’t the goat solely because of his coaching ability.

Tech brought in a bunch of 4-6 rounders as a discount instead of trying to buy up every 5*/1st rounder available.
It’s a wildly different situation
Everybody has been throwing around money forever but Tech just moneyballed it.

This has been happening before the 70’s

How about “purchased by the rules”. Bama was king of purchasing “against the rules”.

It would be no different than what Ohio State did last season, other than tech not being a blue blood.

Numb nuts, I’d be surprised if your IQ is over 50. You do realize it’s 100% “legal” to pay HS and College athletes as much as NIL wants to pay them. Everybody is “buying teams” since amateur sports has turned into corporate professionalism. The NCAA has lost a half-dozen court cases regarding athletes and money. We’re stuck with the current system for awhile.

Maybe they just knew how to do it better? But every big money program was buying players under the table long before it became “legal”. And the NCAA didn’t really care. They were only going to make examples of schools like LA Tech or Troy if they got busted.

Clearing house will prevent this in the future.

It would be hilarious if Tech wins it all, or makes the final

Texas tech almost did it in softball last year! they might actually succeed this year with the money they spent.

You still have to win the games.
