Maybe it’s rigged, but I don’t know what’s going to happen…

Let's see; just off the top of my head:

wouldn't it be cool if the Saints made a run post-Katrina? It would be a really nice story, even if the franchise currently sucked
Saints do win their only Super Bowl, with Brees and "superstar" Reggie Bush (who actually was mediocre) leading the way

The Rams just moved back to LA. Wouldn't it be neat if the Rams were good and made it, despite sucking for more than a decade?
Rams do make it, having a suddenly great season, and with the no-call against the Saints

Wouldn't it be great if Tom Brady could somehow lead the pitiful Tampa Bay Bucs to the Superbowl, now that he's left New England? Especially since the Super Bowl is in Tampa?
Tampa Bay does win the SB, beating the Saints (who swept them in the regular season) along the way

Hey, this Joe Burrow is a lifetime fan of the awful Bengals, how cool would it be if they could make the Super Bowl with him?
Bengals make the Super Bowl

Which is offset by:
Wouldn't it be great for everybody if the Rams could somehow win the Super Bowl in LA? It hasn't been there in forever.
Surprise, surprise, the Rams win the LA Superbowl

Hey, how cool of a story would it be if KC could rebound from an off-year and win, now that Taylor Swift is bringing millions of new (female) eyes to the sport?
The Chiefs make a run through the playoffs and win the Super Bowl, with cameras on Taylor Swift all game long

I'm not saying these were rigged by the players, but they were all marketing dreams come true for the NFL. Would it shock me if there were some things happening behind the scenes to help set the stage for them to happen? No... the talent is roughly equal across the board. It shouldn't take something obvious to give a 'preferred team' the edge it needs.
Holding, pass interference, and a couple other penalties can be called on almost any play; judicious use can probably get you a winner 80% of the time just with those.

Didn't anyone notice how good the Jets were in game 1 this year? They beat the Bills, it was Aaron Rodger's first game with the Jets, and he had come to save them. And they beat a playoff team.
Problem was, Rodgers got hurt on his 3rd play, out for the year. So while the Jets had their statement win, they didn't have the star power or story anymore.

But HEY, Zach Wilson played the entire game other than those first couple plays, he should be okay, right?
Nope, the Jets sucked badly afterwards. Lost 30-10 to Dallas the next week.

How much you wanna bet the Jets would have been in the playoffs, maybe even the Super Bowl, had Rodgers not got hurt?

If your Team doesn't win the SB, the NFL is rigged.

Sadly, there are idiots that actually think this way.

After 60 years of watching, I quit complete games a couple years ago.
I once scheduled my weekends around college and NFL football games. I watched on old rabbit ear antenna TVs where the picture was at an angle and so snowy you could barely see the picture.
I'm no longer confident any college or professional athletic event is real.
I watched the South Carolina game yesterday. Every contested encounter in the last minute of the game was judged by the officials in favor of LSU.
I wondered how the betting money was distributed on the game.

I don’t watch them now unless it’s the Sunday night game. I’m not missing a hunting or fishing trip for people that would spit on me if they had the chance.

If the NFL was proven to be the football equivalent of WWE, I don't know what I'd do.

If this were proven to be true, it would be like dropping an atomic bomb on Vegas. The lawsuits that would follow would probably destroy anything in its path.

Do you believe we live in a simulation?

Uhhhh nope. Already a lawsuit that's been posted in the other thread. The NFL/Vegas are protected. Nothing would come of it.

If you honestly believe that you are important enough to be told the truth to, then the joke's on you.

Owl No post about your coach suspending players?

It’s girls hoops. I thought the board hated that
I don't care for hoops period but way way back my baseball coach who was also hoops coach - sat 2 players for being late for practice on a state title contender in a qfinal game(for the first half)... they lost.
