That's the issue. Bama thinks they are the best team every year. Every other team is playing at a disadvantage when Bama can lose games and get the benefit of the doubt while other teams in a P5 conference win all of their games and their conference and it was meaningless.
No other team is getting that benefit. It's pure bias.

Every team had their close calls. FSU won all of theirs. Bama lost one of theirs.
