baseball could pull off expansion right now.

Attendance down, and two teams in the state of Florida with fans that could give a frick. I don't think it would work.

Everyone who keeps saying Nola should be contracted obviously hasn't been paying attention to what's happened with the franchise in the last year. Now that they have an owner who is actually spending money it will turn around

where? name one city that could support 81 homes games?? i cant think of one.

Austin or San Antonio (MLB is quietly considering putting a new NL team in Texas. Selig wants one of his final acts to be expanding with two more teams.)

Hope so. It's all about the attendance numbers...

Way down, and good point. The last time attendance dropped this much was after the 1994 strike. This time, there's no clear explanation I can think of that explains the low attendance. We'll see in the next three or so years how it stabilizes.

i just think some markets are perfect where they are. spurs in SA, jazz in SLC, packers in GB. some places just arent meant to take on more teams

adding 81 home games in baseball is a tall, tall order. adding 8 home games in football is pretty easy.

This is very true because in order to operate a financially viable franchise, you need about 25k per game.

But what if the situation changed and all you needed was 15k per game? Because that's what I think will happen a decade from now. That's all I'm saying. If that happens, then there are quite a few more cities that become legitimate possibilities.

The dolphins and heat aren't going anywhere, but you can take the marlins. Ownership and specifically Loria can eat a bag of dicks for how they fraudulently fleeced dade county. Frick the marlins. I'll never pay for a ticket to one of their games.

Tampa's had worse attendance issues in recent years. Several blackouts vs. 0 for Jax.

If MLB adds an NL team to Texas, then Bud Selig can go right ahead and frick off. But we're currently at a balance with 5 in every division. If there's two expansion teams, put one in each league to get to 16 in each. Split into 4 divisions each. For the love of God move the Astros back to the NL.
