Thanks RYNO. Things are getting better. Hitting ROCL BOTTOM is just NO FUN. Starting over is an adventure and I am taking the throttle and slammin it to the floor. We may end up better than before.

This is such an absurd isolation of reality it hardly deserves a response.
This, coming from the guy that is trying to tell me that whether or not a WR for another team catches a ball determines how good Tom Brady is.

Are you really trying to say that nothing an opposing team does matters?

I can say without question that nothing an opposing team's offense or NE's defense has EVER done has had any bearing on how good Tom Brady is. If they had teh best defense ever that gave up 5 points per game and he won 8 Super Bowls, he would be the EXACT same player as if his defenses gave up 45 points per game and he won 0 Super Bowls.

God I hate the new fantasy football generation of fans.
I've never even considered the thought of playing fantasy football, no clue how it even works, generally speaking.

The goal of any QB or NFL player is to win Super Bowls
The goal of judging individual talent is to judge individuals, not team stats.

ow in the world can you not see that losing a Super Bowl hurts a player's case as the GOAT?
Because it's irrelevant for the most part.

So answer the question, is Big Ben and Eli better than Drew Brees and PEYTON Manning? Capitalized for you, Kafka.

This is a ridiculous argument.

My argument is infinitely more logical than yours, fwiw.

If Vinatieri misses three field goals, is Brady magically a lesser QB?

I use this argument in part because Jim Kelly, in his first Super Bowl, did exactly what Brady did, only his kicker missed...

Sho nuff!!!

i'm honestly baffled that someone would not only not see the difference, but also think it's utterly absurd to NOT think that whether or not Norwood makes a kick determines how good Jim Kelly is lol.

Brady would NOT have done as well with the 80's niners than Joe did. Jerry Rice. Bill Walsh. Top 3 Defense in at least one of the Super Bowls. I really could go on.

Brady would NOT do as well.

Tom Brady is in contention for a Super Bowl every season

Joe was too.

and the Patriots have statistically been one of the worst defenses in the league for the past few years now

Like I have said... Stats do NOT matter as much in this day and age.

Finally, at least NE has a good run defense, so Brady can finally get another ring.

They were 17-0 in 2007 and HE could NOT deliver. Lets look at the New England sb wins. ALL BY 3 points. No domination at all. Now Brady had a great drive in the 2002 sb in N.O. And they won. But he is NOWHERE NEAR the PLAYOFF QB JOE was.

Ditto that, he's done the most with the least amount of talent around him.

You could certainly make the case even if he just wins 1 more SB.

Honestly, one could say that he is just the quarterback with the most Super Bowl rings.

I don't see people saying Charles Haley is the greatest defensive player of all time. Yes, he was awesome at his position, but it was very fortunate for him that he was on the winning Super Bowl team five times.

Football is a team sport, and the greatest quarterback isn't necessarily on the winningest team or most decorated team; the award for creating the most Super Bowl victories in my opinion would go to Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick.

I'm a Staubach guy, because he defined leadership at the quarterback position better than anyone in the history of the game, in my humble opinion.
