These two statements and this whole argument is stupid. So winning or losing has nothing to do with who the GOAT is? You're saying it's dumb that a crazy catch is the reason he didnt win another title and isn't on Jordan esque status? What if Jordan didnt win all of his titles? Would he still be the greatest ever with no title?
Results matter, a lot

Not to those who think logically.

The opposite has zero logic, hell it's not even rational. Just think about what you're saying.

Brady is the same player whether Tyree makes that catch or not, how is that possibly debateable?

I know people like to default to the Dilfer>Marino for obvious reasons, and I understand the ridiculousness of it.

But, it does raise the point, where do you draw the line?

Eli and Big Ben, are they better than Brees and Manning? If not, why not? What about the rings argument?

Rings are so unbelievably overrated for the example already mentioned in this thread. Tom Brady is the same QB, no better/no worse, if Tyree makes a catch with his helmet or not.

ELI IS BETTER THAN MANNING

ELI IS WORSE THAN MANNING

ELI IS THE SAME AS MANNING

You're saying if Eli doesn't make a miracle pass to Tyree and also doesn't make a great pass on the last drive in 2012, THAT makes Brady a better player?

That's ridiculous logic. He is the same exactly player regardless of what happened on those 2 last drives by NYG, how can you think otherwise?

This is such an absurd isolation of reality it hardly deserves a response.

Are you really trying to say that nothing an opposing team does matters? That literally the outcome of a game matters not at all? All that matters is stats because what the other offense does doesn't affect you. God I hate the new fantasy football generation of fans.

The goal of any QB or NFL player is to win Super Bowls. Brady's goal was hindered by the Giants, and primarily by Eli's insane toss. How in the world can you not see that losing a Super Bowl hurts a player's case as the GOAT?

This is a ridiculous argument.

And continues to put up amazing stats, is he the GOAT?

You could make the argument if he wins it this year.

Hahahaha.

Brady has a reasonable chance of winning as many Super Bowls, finishing with 150 more TD passes, about the same number of interceptions, and 15-20K more passing yards than Montana-- all while maintaining a better career record in every regard.

Look. I love Joe. He's been the gold standard of NFL quarterbacking for a long time, but the numbers are stacked against him.

#'s are not as important in football as compared to Baseball. I would take Montana over Brady in a heartbeat.Montana could play now. I don't think Brady could have done what Montana did with those 80's niners.

Brady's status is what it is, regardless of his rings.

WHY???????????? Oh.. I guess you never saw Montana play. He is the SMARTEST QB EVER and its not even close.Brady would NOT have done as well with the 80's niners than Joe did. AND Montana would have BEEN to a SB since 2004 with NE and WON IT. Brady chokes in the big game lately. JOE NEVER choked in a SB.

Jerry Rice. Bill Walsh. Top 3 Defense in at least one of the Super Bowls. I really could go on.

Tom Brady is in contention for a Super Bowl every season and the Patriots have statistically been one of the worst defenses in the league for the past few years now. Finally, at least NE has a good run defense, so Brady can finally get another ring.
