They would struggle full court against a lot of high school teams. They (at least when I was at Illinois in the early 2000’s) recruit men to act as scrimmage partners to NCAAW team in practice - these would typically be former high school players (who weren’t good enough to get even DII men’s scholarships), but even then they place additional limitations on them, they’re not bringing in 6’6”+ players, can’t run a fast break, can’t jump when they shoot…..

There are extremely athletic college all Americans that get to the nba and have to learn how to adjust to the elite speed and length of the nba game compared to college to get shots off. What used to be open shots for them are now contested shots and they are having to work harder to get open shots.
She would need so much space to get a decent shot off, and she’s so much slower and unathletic than these 40 year olds that they won’t care about her dribbling pass them b/c they’ll catch up and block her 99% of the time. She’s never had to shoot over a 6’10” guy that can jump and reach 12’ in the air, and who’s also faster and quicker than her, and I’m talking about no knees Greg Oden. Oden playing defense against Clark would be like a dad playing defense against his 7 year old.

Obviously the Big3 is different than pick up hoops, but there was a girl or two that would play on the best court at Ramsey (UGA gym) from time to time that could score just because they could make some mid range jumpers better than a ton of guys.
It’s not like she’s throwing a medicine ball at the basket. She’d shoot better than a lot of guys, even with a men’s ball. She just wouldn’t be as good against defenders.

I hope she does it but I think she would be embarrassed. But they could show highlights of her hitting a wide open 3 point shot.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but there is a difference in the size of the ball between the men and women.. I would assume that this would be a huge adjustment for her or any women to make.. Is it worth $5 million? Yes, most definitely.. but Idk how hard it would be to make that transition..

The BIG3 offering Clark 5 million is the same as brazzers saying they offered to sponsor an NFL stadium. It’s just for publicity.

The Big 3 isn’t real basketball.
These guys are not playing at an NBA level or even close
The whole point of 3 on 3 is that it creates space you don’t have 5 on 5 and makes it way harder to defend
They would absolutely torch her on defense but it’s the fricking Big 3, she’s not going to play defense and would just let them shoot uncontested 3’s the whole time, because that’s what everyone does anyway.
On offense she couldn’t drive past them but she can still move and get open, these guys are not going to be playing full deny intense defense, that’s not what happens in the Big 3
She’d hit a ton of open shots and be a publicity stunt, would her team win? Does anybody actually care about that?
As far as the ball, it’s a 1 inch difference she could adjust, in fact girls like her likely played with guys balls constantly growing up because they played with the boys more than the girls.
Nobody is saying she could hack it in real men’s basketball. The Big3 is NOT real basketball

She's never seen opponents with the size and speed of these 40 year old retired NBA players closing on her.
You can giver her all the space in the world to operate, she's not scoring. They can play up as close to her as possible, and if she goes by them, they'll have size and speed to easily be able to recover.

When we fooled around with the woman's ball in high school, frickin' everything went in and we sucked.
I'd like to see tape of WNBA players playing a full game with the Men's ball (actually I wouldn't want to see that comedy)...
Or have Clark demonstrate with a Men's ball before offering her $5 mil.
Otherwise they're going to have to play with the girlie ball and she'll make 50% and the old guys will make every shot.

Once again, the Big 3 is FAKE BASKETBALL. Nobody thinks Caitlyn Clark can hang with ex-pros in a real basketball game. She couldn’t even hang 3 on 3 except to jack up 3’s which is exactly what would happen and that’s my whole point.
Those of you making a big deal about the ball, clearly you’ve never actually played basketball if you think it’s that detrimental of a difference or something she’d never adjust to.
The women’s ball is between 0-2oz’s lighter (depending on inflation), and 1 inch in diameter smaller. It’s a difference but definitely not one you can’t adjust to with practice
