Brilliant PR move by Ice Cube, though. I’ll watch.

This

Even if she turns it down, it's still free marketing for the Big 3.

No lose situation for Ice Cube here.

she would get owned in every way

"All she would have to do is sit on the perimeter and shoot threes"
nope, the only way that works is she plays on a team with someone that absolutely has to be double teamed. Otherwise whomever is guarding her is never giving her space to shoot. She cant drive by anyone and finish anything so crowd her and she is useless

"She would get abused on the block"
These arent washed up rec league guys or college kids paid to scrimmage the Iowa women. These are former NBA players. She can't handle any of them anywhere. Remember Scalabrine telling the HS kid at the Health Club Gym "In skills and ability, I am closer to Lebron than you are to me" I may suck compared to an NBA Player, but you suck compared to me

Scalabrine says in the video, its not just the physical skills it takes to stick in the League it is the thinking part as well. You have to be able to see tendencies and tells and react to them.

Take for example a 42 year old Leandro Barbosa of the Ball Hogs. He is 6'3 so not much advantage in height. He had a major injury last year, so he is a good bit slower than he was. He is not much of a an offensive player so she would be serviceable guarding him unless he took her to the post. He is 20 years older than her. But he is so much more experienced, seasoned and physically stronger than her she would not have room to breath.

she isnt especially fast or strong or even quick. Maybe she has a distinct cardio advantage but since its half court, that advantage doesn't really matter much. I dont think she can even get away from guys to shoot and she is shooting a men's sized ball so some of her muscle memory is going to be off. I thinks she would be a novelty and the guys would take it easy on her to not embarass her but she would be a non-factor

Yeh, she shouldn’t overthink this
I think it's a no brainer on the surface, but I also think there's a logical argument against it.

The Big 3 is no joke. Those dudes would maul any 3 chicks you put together from the WNBA, it would be a massacre. They're not 40 something dudes who are 5'8 playing at your local YMCA. These dudes are former NBA player who are 6'6" and still in decent shape.

She would be the worst player in the league and very quickly become a laughingstock. Now, that may be something you or I would gladly sign up for for $5mil because we don't have $5mil.

But she's going to be a millionaire based on endorsements. So I'm not convinced $5mil for a millionaire is worth that ridicule as opposed to going to the WNBA and likely being one of the best players for a long time.

I am hearing $5million for 10 games and she can still play in the WNBA
Why would she not take it?? $500k a game
That definitely would make it more enticing, but I think their seasons overlap, so I don't see how that is possible.

Serious question: Does the league even have enough money to pay her that much? Maybe I'm making it up, but it seems like I remember reading that the Big3 league was facing bankruptcy and on the verge of shutting down before.

I am going to guess they offered it to her, she has already turned it down and they are leaking this to get the League's name in the papers during the WNCAA Tourney

I mean, women's ball or not she can probably shoot 3s with anyone in the Big 3, but the bigger issue is shooting 3s over taller dudes who are way more athletic than her.

They'll be able to play up in her face much more closely than girls do, they're taller, and can recover easier if she tries to drive.

She'd have no chance, other than actual wide open type shots.

And then there's defense, she'd be toast.

have you seen videos of 48y/o Jason Williams (white chocolate) and 47y/o Vince Carter playing Summer ProAM League in Orlando?

I think white chocolate at 48 would torch Clark

Carter going about 50% at age 47

I do believe a one on one match with Clark versus Williams might be fun to watch.

Ehhhh I don’t think so. In a 3 on 3 game she could hang with those washed up pros.

All she’s gotta do is roam the perimeter and catch and shoot, attack and kick every now and then to keep them honest. Ain’t like anyone’s playing D in that league anyway so she could just guard the perimeter on defense

The best female player wouldnt start on any decent mens college team. You underestimate these former pros. Have you not been paying attention to the below average men pretending to be women and dominating womens sports?

I'm halfway wondering if Ice Cube isn't looking at making the league co-ed. For all you know, there are offers on the table for Angel Reese, etc.

Right

This ain't your 45 year old, balding accounts at the Y.

These are dudes, come near 7 feet and probably 300lbs, and the shorter dudes are probably 6'5 and in good shape for 40+ year old dudes, and oh yea, they're former NBA players.

Making an open shot will be the only thing she'll be able to do on just about every one of these dudes.

Completely guessing here, but I am thinking that she will have to work that into her WNBA contract.

Something allowing her to have extra PTO basically allowing her to have a couple of weeks out of the season that she wont be fined or cut for being absent.

Shes big enough to change how the normal rules work

It would make more sense to sit out of the WNBA than to try to play both leagues at the same time. She’s gonna risk getting hurt playing for $250k a year in the WNBA when Big3 is paying her twice that amount per game? I doubt the money in her Big3 contract would include injury guarantees if she got hurt playing in the WNBA

If it was real. She will get destroyed by a 50 year old ex NBA play. She has no chance to defend them. I am not taking away her skills, she is good for a female but not an equal match.

Well do the guys get to play with her tiny ball (everything is going in for them then) or does she have to play with the men's ball and suddenly the logo shots are airballs.

She would get embarrassed on the court, but be rich.

Defensively yes. Offensive no.

The point of 3 on 3 is to move without the ball and have more space to operate.
