I feel like your advice contradicts itself. Let them be kids by making them go study instead of play baseball??

School obviously is a much higher priority than some fricking 6th grade baseball game.

It's also only 6th grade in school. Not that important either

to the OP: When did these requests begin from the parents, and how long has the season been going on?

If yall are 8 weeks into the season, and the parents just started this mess in the last week, then you can simply ask the parents, "Where was this request 2 months ago when the schedule was released?"

So your impression is that 6th grade baseball is more important than studying for 6th grade finals?

I think we can all agree that both are rather irrelevant.

Eh, if it's like where I went to school, that's about when you start getting placed into "Advanced" classes, which then turn into honors and AP classes later on. It's more difficult to get on that track later on. Maybe other schools are different, but your academic reputation forms pretty early on at private schools.

Seems like the league is the one that needs to be taught the lesson. It isn't the kids fault that the game got rained out and the league wont work around finals. You seem like the douche coach that thinks he is some huge role model and father figure. However, I'm betting that most of the player have their dads around since they go to a nice private school.

Don't be that guy... it is just sad.

Coaches are role models and father figures. Whether they realize it or not.

God to see some parents are still putting academics before athletics.

You have to do what the parents want in the end. If they want to cancel the games then you have to cancel the games.

By making them sit still for hours on end memorizing things that will be forgotten in a matter of weeks?

Middle School exams have almost no value to the life of the person taking them.

That is even less important than middle school finals.

Am I wrong to think that's a little silly? They're in 6th grade how much studying are they really doing?

It's a very good private school

The parents are probably spending tens of thousands on that schooling. It's just 6th grade baseball.

Is your team undefeated?

Show up to coach.

If players come, play.

If not, don't worry about it.

I don't even remember how many games we won in 6th grade. It doesn't matter.
