Every team could use 1 more starter and reliever, but as far as positional players go, the Astros need a catcher that they can count on to give them a QAB, or at the very least, make contact.
Castro's struggles offensively far outweigh any advantages he might give you defensively. When Hank Conger can carry you to the playoffs down the stretch throwing out 1 of 37 base stealers and hit .200, I would have assumed this past off season would have addressed this position, but Castro is back for the sole purpose of being my whipping boy, I guess.

Tyler Heineman is in line to be that guy next season. He is not going to hit for power but he's a switch hitter who makes contact. He could be a good partner for Gattis, who is not staying if he is not catching.

well dumping velazquez for giles isnt looking too good right now. We could have used a nice arm in the rotation. Even Mchugh has 35 wins or whatever the last 2 years, he's trash. If we're ever really going to be a contender we need 2-3 very good starters. We have 1 right now, The problem is have you seen the list of giant turds available this offseason in the starting pitching market???? Let me enlighten you

Talk about a dumb arse trade at this point. We could have shipped Bregman and an arm for Giles. Instead we send them a 5 man fricking rotation. Smh

I hated the trade. Appel wasn't going to be a #1, but in all honesty we just needed him to be a great #3 or #4. Kuechal, McCullers and McHugh are good enough to get to the playoffs.

At worst Appel could have helped in the pen. I wasn't a huge fan of the deal at the time but kind of talked myself into it after. It could end up looking really bad
