I'll be at Don Shows Field at Rebel Stadium tonight. John Ehret is the best season opener WM has had...maybe ever. Super talented team, even without the #1 MLB in the nation for 2019. Should be a great game.

JJ, should I run up to WM and buy tix at lunch or you think I should be able to buy at the gate? Thinking no way Ehret fills up the old home side at least.

idk how it works elsewhere but usually if you buy at the gate the visitors get half the money

Oh getting shalacked in the jamboree isn't gonna stop me from going. I was just wondering if anyone knew more about it and if they were just showing absolutely nothing.

That stadium will NEVER be sold out. It's just far too big now to not be able to accommodate any high school game. That being said, gate is split. So buy at the school so WM gets all the money.

Ehret won both their jams last week. Whatever said they lost is wrong.

Great...I had lunch with the AD and head coach for Allen yesterday and they said that Cedar Hill will be as fast as anyone in the state. Should be a good one.

Oh wow, thats really cool. Are you involved with the school or district?

I have two kids in the district and we love the 1 HS feel.

Tonights game will be tough for Allen. The QB is a great athlete, but last year he just looked raw and rattled. I hope he takes the next step.

I am not, but I have friends that are both principals at Allen High and on the school board.

That is a hotly debated topic within all of the North Texas districts. Allen's thoughts are that every Allen kid will be an Allen Eagle. Frisco went completely the other direction and although it provides more opportunity for student involvement across the board, it hurts them some from an administrative cost perspective.

Agreed. We were laughing at lunch that the AD told a group that Coach Gambill guaranteed victory...obviously, he didn't and let everyone know about it in no uncertain terms.

So many of the teams in the Dallas area have numerous D1 caliber players on their rosters. It has been the most talent rich area of the state for a few years now.

Allen will be challenged both this week and next against Evangel of Shreveport.

The Battle of Chester, VA...Thomas Dale HS vs. LC Byrd. I could walk to this game , but I am not. These are 6A schools up here but you would never know it, because high school football here is pretty pathetic.

I may go to Mater Dei vs. Bishop Gorman. I'd for sure go if I didn't have to wake up early.

I'll be at Ascension Christian watching the Lions take on Springfield. I help out ACH whenever work permits me to do so.

Used to coach but got out of education so this gives me a little way to stay involved in HS athletics and still spend a little time with my dad.

MaxPreps has them at #1 and #2 on one poll and #2 and #4 on another, so that should be a great matchup.

I'll be at Chalmette HS, they are hosting St. Charles Catholic.

Tonight is Junior Cheer night. Every year, CHS puts on a cheer clinic for the younger girls in the community (heck, I guess now, boys could go too). That was this past Saturday. Then, the kids perform with the cheerleaders at the game. That is tonight My daughters are participating.

Having played HS ball, I look forward to it each year. I'll look forward to it more once the first cool front passes through and it starts to feel like fall (or what passes for fall down here!!)
