How many seasons would he need to do that?

Career stats so far

Mahomes

66%—303 yards/g—2.4 tds/g—0.6 int/g—105.2 rating

Brady

64%—266 yards/g—1.94 tds/g—0.6 int/g—97.2 rating

I don’t see Mahomes ever playing that bad for that many years to dip as low as Brady

Tom Brady’s best ever single season

68%—300 yards/g—3.125 tds/g—0.5 ints/g—117.2 rating

Brady had 312 ypg, completed 68% of his passes, averaged 2.6 TDs/gm, and had a 102.1 rating LAST YEAR. Game is a little different now wouldn't you say?

I guess that depends on who you (or anyone else) considers the best ever.

If it's Tom Brady - then I'd have to think you have to see consistent top-tier play for 20 years. I don't know what I'd trade for that. Consider this:

Tom Brady was the primary starter for 21 seasons, Mahomes just finished his 5th season.

In Brady's 21st season as a starter, at the age of 45 - he was 3rd in the league in passing yards, 1st in completions, 8th in completion percentage, 8th in TDs, and won a division title (in a weak division, yes).

That was at the age of 45 years old.

Brady made it to the Super Bowl in 10 of 21 seasons. That's just silly.

The odds are that Mahomes doesn't play until he's 45.

Is it fair to say he's had the best "first 5 years" in history? Sure. But he's far away from GOAT, despite being on track to get there.

Brady won 3 rings in his first 4 as a starter
He threw 1 TD during an entire playoff stretch early on.

Mahomes, at the same point in their careers, is WAY more advanced, important to team success, and better than Brady.

I broke it down for you. Can Mahomes average 5000 yards and 35 TDs over the next 13 years? Because that's what he'll need to do to pass Brady's records.

The game is much different now than it was when Brady was a 2nd year player. Brady led the league in TDs in his third year with 28. 28 TDs would have been good enough for 7th in the NFL this year. In his 5th year starting, where Mahomes is right now, Brady was 3rd in MVP voting with 4110 yards and 26 TDs. He basically had a season marginally worse than Kirk Cousins had this season. Comparing raw passing numbers from now to 20 years ago is a fools errand if you're actually trying to compare two players.

I compare how you look against your peers. Mahomes easily has been the best Qb to me the last 5 years overall.

Rodgers, to me, looked like the best QB during Brady’s prime overall

Well, pride posed that exact argument, though. I'm just responding to it.

This is what he posted

And I am factually correct. Mahomes pace is far ahead of Brady. It isn’t even close actually
