So was Brady #1 and Mahomes #4 last year? Brady led the league in yards and TDs while Mahomes was 4th. Kinda crazy a 44 year old Brady was better than a 26 year old Mahomes. Right?

Ok without using rings, tell me why Brady is better than Rodgers, manning, and Brees

You can easily do that with Mahomes without ever using rings

NE won SBs because of defense. KC wins SBs because of Mahomes.
I'm not even sure why this is a debate.

I've posted the numbers before. Even little old Drew Brees in the playoffs has better passing numbers than Brady, Brees offenses score more points in the postseason than Brady offenses, and Brees offenses turn the ball over less than Brady offenses in the playoffs.

So how in the world can the player be responsible for 6 additional Super Bowl wins with worse production and a worse offense that turns the ball over more?

And FWIW, Brady can still be the GOAT, even with the above being true. If you think he's the GOAT, that's great. if the 1st or only thing you point to is 7 rings, that's lazy.

If Dee Ford lines up 3 inches further back, Brady has one less ring and Mahomes likely has another. That has nothing to do with how good either player is.

One of my favorite stats...going into this season that just ended, just in the lsat 10 years(not Brady's entire career) Brady played with a top 10 defense all 10 years.

So last 10 years, Brady 10 top 10 defenses. That's as many as Peyton, Rodgers, Brees, and Mahomes...combined for their entire careers.

How in the world is THAT not the very obvious deciding factor in SB win difference for a QB that is not clearly statistically better than all of the guys on that list?

and it took him throwing the ball more than anyone else. His efficiency numbers were not good

Want to know a Qb almost always at the top in efficiency and total production?

Your response doesn't really mean anything of relevance to what you quoted though.

Peyton manning won 1 super bowl in 16 seasons playing elite level Qb

Peyton won 1 super bowl in 1 season playing like one of the worst qbs in the nfl

Yet, people still don’t get it

He got benched for Brock freaking Osweiler, and we he came back in for Brock, he was still a bottom 3 QB in the NFL...still won a title. But didn't win one in one of the best statistical seasons we've ever seen for a QB, maybe the best.

GO figure.

Right, by all means let’s change the standards that have always been used in these discussions. The younger generations have tried so hard to do this everyone should just cave to it. Proclamation > accomplishment is the new way.

The irony of these 2 statements back to back.

Mahomes pace is far ahead of Brady.

Yeah but pace isn't everything.

Eric Dickerson had 10,000 yards and 75 touchdowns in his first 90 games and was considered a lock to retire with the rushing record.

Eight different receivers had more receiving yards than Jerry Rice at age 30 and nobody will break his records.

What sets Brady apart, apart from the consistency and postseason success, is that he played for a damn long time. You could argue he had a Hall of Fame career AFTER his 38th birthday and most QBs retire when they turn 38 if they haven't already.

I don't see football players doing that going forward. Not with all of the money and adulation thrown at them early in their careers couples with all of the negative aspects of injuries, brain damage, etc.

You could also argue Mahomes has already had a hall of fame career before his 28th birthday

3x all pro

Yes people get it, but you're trying to completely ignore super bowls altogether as if they shouldn't be part of the argument at all. QBs, especially now, have THE single biggest impact on winning and losing, so yes how mahy championships you've won is going to be pretty important in separating the best of the best.

Do you not also find it odd that #1-3 of the all-time leaders in ypg are players drafted from 2017-present?

Or that 9 of the top 10 all-time leaders in completion % are active players (13 of the top 20)?

Or that 9 of the top 10 all-time leaders in passer rating are active players?

Or that 7 of the top 10 all-time leaders in passer rating are active players?

Maybe, just maybe passing stats now are much easier to dominate than they used to be. Or is it just that QBs now are just that much better?

You should only ever compare qbs to their peers I agree

Brady was never the best Qb at playing the position while he was in the league. I firmly believe manning and Rodgers were ahead of him, and Brees was his equal

I do think his longevity is the best

Interestingly enough, Brady's QB rating his last 10 years (97.7) was better than his first 10 years (95.2). Wonder why that is?
