I wonder why he is not giving a live speech? In this recorded one, he sounds good.

I thought the same. He looks like he may have some health issues. He was being led around somewhat by his friends. Sad. I like his speech tho…… well there it is. He has dementia

So many players back in the day taking legal head shots. Migraines, CTE and early on dementia common symptoms.

When I first saw him I thought he was there to help induct someone.
Didn't cross my mind that he is just now getting in.

I think because his "stardom" at his position just seemed a bit brief.

Had 3 TDs in SB XIX vs. Miami, still tied with others for most in a single SB, but that was his only 3 TDs of the entire post season.
Then had that awesome 1,000/1,000 season the following year in 1985.
1986 season wasn't amongst the start RBs that season.
1987 was good.
1988 he had over 1,500 yards rushing and over 2,000 total, dominating in some games. He the best RB in the league that year. Only Herschel Walker was close. Had a great Super Bowl where he and Jerry Rice were the offense.
1989 was a Pro Bowl season, but he was already starting to fall off.

Then 1990, he was just about done, and there's the fumble in the NFC Championship game.

I do think if he didn't fumble in that game, and the 49ers beat the Bills with Craig getting a TD, then he would have gotten into the HoF sooner. He'd have won four Super Bowls, and would have had 5 TDs in the SB.

I was just starting to pay attention to football in 1988 as a wee young lad, so I basically got just a quick glimpse at his prime, and at that time, was too young to understand and appreciate. There's alot of full games, especially playoffs, uploaded to YouTube these days one can go back and watch. It's been fun watching the ones where Craig was in his prime.

He shouldn't have waited this long but he wasn't a first ballot guy. He only had two special years and he wasn't gonna be considered an alltime guy with Montana and Rice there.

Emmit had 10,000 more rushing yards. Good player, but not HOF worthy.
