quote:But weren't they something like 11-5 both seasons? Those weren't collapses, they were oddball seasons where they normally still would have gotten in.

Brady has been Belichicks game manager of choice and they don't miss a beat without him.
Belichick has coached two seasons in New England without Brady as his starting quarterback, and they have missed the postseason both times.

Brady has done it without the stable of future hall of famers like Manning and Montana had. Besides Randy Moss for that one amazing year and the often injured Gronkowski, Brady has consistently put his team in contention with small, white, under-sized receivers, middle of the road running backs, and usually just an average defense.
If you're talking about doing more with less, why isn't Brett Favre mentioned more as a GOAT candidate? He did more with less than anybody. He broke most of the major career passing records despite playing his entire career with exactly zero HOF caliber offensive players around him outside of one year with AD when he was 40 years old.

He set his personal season single touchdown record while in Denver, with 10 in 2013.
But he didn't have nearly as many receptions and yards as he did while at New England. He was only in Denver for two years before they traded him.

1 Super Bowl ring to show for it.
Like it or not, QBs are judged by the championships they win as well as the stats they put up.

No. They weren't. He was 5-11 in 2000 without Brady. In 2008, the year Brady went down in the first game, that was virtually the same team that had gone undefeated the year before. They go from 16-0 to 11-5. Had Brady been the QB they lose one or two games tops and make the playoffs.

He was older
He had over 1,000 yards with Brady the season before.

Exactly. You know you have very little all-star talent to work with when Wes Welker is your #1 WR.

Plus, he missed games due to concussions
He missed 5 games total in two years.

Denver didn't trade him. His contract expired.
Even worse.

Peyton. fricking. Manning.
They guy who threw twice as many interceptions as touchdowns in his SB appearances?
Edit: Nevermind, you're a UTjr fan. That explains it.

quote:Now imagine a couple of QBs having that virtually every season...
And for the record, the Pats had some BAD defenses between 2007-2012 that held the team back from another possible title, not to mention Pats defense is on the hook for two SB losses.

He had over 1,000 yards with Brady the season before.

He missed 5 games total in two years.

Even worse.

He's a system QB. He's not even close to being the GOAT
