yeah, people say he was roided up like he was roided up his whole career or something, and that just isn't true. Bonds was a great hitter with a beautiful swing that compiled most of those stats before he got on roids. He got on roids towards the end of his career.

Barry’s hand-eye coordination was alien. He’s the best hitter ever by any metric, and he defended his position through his last game. It’s a shame he juiced but there’s no juice in the world that can take an average player to the places he went. We will never see that again

Argue it out among Sosa/ARod/Palmeiro for second.
A-Rod was significantly better than Sosa, Palmeiro, McGwire, or any other steroid using hitter.
The correct answer though is Roger Clemens.

Yes, dude was unreal or uncanny with his swinging and hAnd to eye coordination as you said, and bat speed, don't forget his bat speed. LOL He really didn't need to get on roids, he would have broken the record without it, but I think he got caught up in the whole Bash brothers, Sammy Sosa muscle bound swingers. He was probably jealous of the attention that they were getting and wanted that attention because Bonds did have an ego. But yeah you're right, the guy was also a phenomenal outfielder with many gold gloves, but people are right in that he was cocky as hell.

Great player that would have been widely considered and revered as one of the greatest ever he had not used roids. It really is a shame because he never needed to.

During an era where 100% of the players were enhanced and it wasn't against the rules..

In 2004, Barry Bonds had more intentional walks than swings and misses. There will never be a player like him again.

Not good enough in 91, 92, or 93

You don’t know how long he was roided up but we know for a fact what records he couldn’t break until he was on steroids, so how can he be the greatest if it took steroids to beat the greatest?

04 Barry Bonds had a slash line of .362/.609/.812 with an OPS of 1.422 The man walked 232 times that year. He hit more homers that year than he did strikeouts. 45 homers and 41 strikeouts. I mean god almighty

He was great with the pirates. He was better with the giants. Everyone (mostly) used roids. The differences between bonds and Ortiz are bonds was better and a jerk. Ortiz didn't roid like Ben Johnson, but was not far behind.

What record? The all-time HR record he holds* by 7? The single season record? Outside of his for sure roided season where he hit 73 and the season prior when he was almost assuredly on steroids where he hit 49, his season high is 46, never even had a 50 HR season.

Crazy stat line. Up there with Ted Williams 1941 season.

Man, stop talking out your arse, it's obvious you're a Bonds hater. Lol Bonds had a lot of HR's before roids and would have broken the HR record by just continuing at a normal pace. As I already said he got caught up in the star-studded attention that the so-called Bash brothers and Sosa was receiving and he wanted to get in that, so he did. Yes, people do know when he started doing roids because it was obvious with the physical transformation it had on him and all.

Its not lame. It's a fact. Using PEDs was not against the rules and everyone was doing it to some degree. You can't point to any player during that era and say for 100% they were clean, cause they didn't test. It's all speculation.

You are making yourself look really dumb by continuing to state this.
