So, because he’s a fan of a certain team he can’t have an opinion of other teams and players?

Jesus. You’ve really let TRC’s shtick really get under your craw.

You're comparing Tom Brady to Joe Burrow

I’ve got no issue with Burrow. I think he’s great and I’m certainly glad he beat Clemson, but this wouldn’t be the first time. Multiple LSU posters have explicitly claimed he’ll be the next Brady or he’ll “do for the Bengals what Brady did for the Patriots.”

If you have spent ANY time around a college football practice in the last 25 years or know any college football coaches you would know exactly how this happened and why he was not overly popular when he first arrived in BR.

It's quite simple.

One was playing under Coach O and Ensminger of which he has 1 month to learn

Seems less likely Burrow improved 100,236% in 6 months to me

Exactly right. This is why stats lacking context can be so misleading. You send Haskins to LSU in summer 2018 with no returning skill guys in that system and I'm not sure he matches Burrow's 2018 numbers.

So you are all ready to throw out the stats (which I agree can't tell you everything) but then claim the what ifs in hindsight to try and prove your point?

Good god.

You telling me a team with Michael Thomas may have chosen the quarterback for reasons other than playing ability? I mean, Michael Thomas seemed to have so much respect for Drew Brees.

not "throw them out", just apply context

no claim made, just questioning whether Haskins would have outperformed Burrow in 2018 if put into the same situation

Sorry, I am projecting on you because that is what others are claiming.

My bad.

probably not but there's no reason to think that with Burrow Ohio State as a team does better in 2018 either. They lost to Purdue 49-20. Haskins only had 1 turnover, it was a pick 6 but it was with only 2 minutes left in the game and PU was up 42-20 so it didn't really affect the outcome. They missed the playoff because there were 3 undefeated teams and OU had a better schedule and their loss was by 3 to a ranked team they beat in a rematch in the CCG

Joe Burrow was fighting an uphill battle for Urban's favor from the beginning. He was offered a scholarship late in the cycle. He told stories about how Urban used to tell him stuff like "you throw like a girl" and all that crap.

Urban is a coach who plays favorites and Burrow was NOT one of his favorites. He was a backup plan from the beginning and he was never going to play at Ohio State. Huge whiff by a coach with tunnel vision --- couldn't see the talent right under his nose.

Lots of revisionism by Ohio State fans out there. Must be difficult to admit that the more talented player got away.

They paid way more to get Haskins than they did Burrow so when it comes down to getting an ROI on that booster money they have to roll with the one that they invested in more heavily.

Burrow didnt fit Urbans offense at the time . Days offense would be a better fit for Burrow . Theres your answer . O$U will always have 2-3 QBS on roster that could start at most other schools . And you think im an IMP? Rebengaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Libertad~! Libertad! Leibertad!

If anything, Urban would have probably preferred Burrow to Haskins.

Dwayne couldn't run the zone read to save his life.

The issue is that Urban was trying to get away from the zone read and pass more effectively.

Who knows what happens if Burrow doesn't break his thumb in fall camp.

But they certainly weren't benching Haskins who was showing out by the time Burrow was healthy.
