Tore my ACL and had to call Nick Saban and Paul Manieri to tell them the bad news. Started my own 8U travel ball team this year though with Jayden turning 6.

Football - 3-7 season after years of playoff teams. Those were the last games the team won for probably 5-6 years.

Track - State title

My first year of high school I didn’t weigh 100 pounds. It ended pretty quickly although I did well on the tennis team.

Time expired on my HS career with me holding the ball. No. Chance to run another play, time expired and the realization hit me.

That moment will always stay with me, but I’m more glad for the whole experience than I am sad about it.

Starting pitcher in our quarterfinal playoff game. 3-0 lead going into the 7th. I came in to the dugout after we got out of 6th inning and took my left cleat off because my foot was swooshing, watery. The whole bottom of my sanitary sock was covered in blood dripping everywhere. A huge blood blister had popped on my big toe. Went out for the 7th. 1st guy got out, walked the second, next guy got on an error. Coach took me out put in our ace (12-0 and drafted by Dodgers) 11 runs later, we end up losing 11-4

Football, played defensive end and got crack backed by a little wide receiver. Got up quickly and got back in the huddle. Standing there till the ref pulled me out. I was in the other teams huddle. Went to the sideline, had concussion, out for final game

Football: Lost in the semis. All State RB went down in the 1st quarter. Veer team that had to shift to the spread because of that. Were driving down the field with 5 mins left down one score and fumbled on 1st and goal at the 5. Never got the ball back.

Soccer: Lost in quarters 2-1. Had a questionable offsides called on us, and a questionable offsides not called on them.

Baseball: Blown out in the 1st round. We had made it to (at least) the quarters the 3 years before and lost in the state championship 2 years before. Half our starters were injured and we quite simply just didn't care anymore. We knew we had no shot to advance past the second round with the injuries, so it made the loss a little easier to swallow.

Football, lost on a 58 yard field goal which fell 5 feet short (I was the kicker).

Soccer we got absolutely manhandled in the regional playoffs by the team who won it all.

This is late 90's.

Football we dumb lucked our way into the playoffs. We had two losses. Team A had no losses and was #1 in state. Team B had one loss to Team A. We lost to Team B and an out of Division team. Before last week of season where we would play Team A, they ruled Team A played an ineligible player and had to forfeit their win over Team B. So, now we each had a Div loss to Team B and Team B is undefeated. Only one more team gets in. Whoever wins our game gets in. They were #1 in the state. It was a forgone conclusion they would be in and everyone talked about who they would get in the playoffs.

Their QB had the worst game of his career (future Louisville QB) and their kicker missed a 30 yard FG with time running out and we won (future UT kicker).

We got beat by about 40 in the playoff game while the #1 team sat at home

Track, no team awards. I finished 2nd once in the 800m and third a couple times.

Basketball (La. 5A) was supposed to be good my Sr year. Best player tore his ACL about a month before season and best athlete decided to play baseball only.

Lot of close losses that year including two games by 1 to district champs.

Limped into playoffs and played #3 seed Bellaire at their place. Jumped out to a 15 pt lead in 2nd quarter but lost game by double digits. If I could go back in time, I’d have dunked over dem mountains…

Baseball lost to Neville in the quarterfinals in Baton Rouge.

Bubby Brister pitched against us. Will Clark and Billy Cannon Jr were also in the quarters...

T.C. Williams class of ‘71 here. Senior year they made us segregate with one of the minority schools. None of us liked the idea. I was starting CB on our team and by midseason I had lost my spot on 1st team defense to one of our African American players. We ended up winning the state championship but the real victory was social change we accomplished

I played a little ball at Notre Dame. They called me Mr. Touchdown.

Then I was killed in Vietnam.

I finished 33rd in the cross country state meet, running in basketball shoes.

Baseball I played center field, scored the only run in the regional finals game for the good guys, had a beeb on the runner from second after a deep base hit, in a tied game, and the pitcher cut it off. They won 2-1. I made all state 1st team and only found out by reading it in the box scores in the times pic.
