Do early season losses not count?

Who won the national title in 1993 despite losing head to head to a team with the same record?

How does that make sense?

Game was week 1

Miami has no ranked wins other than ND

Miami lost to two shite teams as opposed to 2 top 12 teams

Notre Dame has won 10 straight games by double digit points

H2H only matters of resumes are equal, but ND’s resume is clearly better

I think the idea of quality losses is silly.

If it's even debatable then H2H should factor in more.

I don't care what week it was. Miami beat them H2H. This is crazy.

I would love to see how ND fans would feel if the roles were reversed. If they won H2H, but were behind Miami.

ND looked so great that they were struggling with 2-10 BC.

5 of NDs wins (half their wins) are from teams with the following records:

2–10, 2-10, 2-10, 3-9 and 4-8.

There only ranked win is an over ranked USC.

Miami has a top 10 win.

It’s funny though because better losses is used to prop ND over Miami, but better wins despite worse losses has Texas over Vandy, and Alabama over both Miami and ND.

The inconsistency is amazing to me with this committee.

DraftKings odds to make the CFP:

Alabama
YES -1800
NO +900

Notre Dame
YES -500
NO +380

BYU
YES +400
NO -550

Miami
YES +650
NO -1400

Not saying these odds matter or not, but there is some money to be made if you think the committee would jump Miami over Notre Dame. Or if you think Alabama is out if they lose.

Also, you are better off taking BYU money line in the game than their odds above to make the playoff.

ND fans are plenty familiar with this scenario. ND was 11-1 in 1993. Florida St. was 11-1 in 1993. ND beat Florida St. head to head. Florida St. was crowned the National Champion. So, yeah, I think they are familiar with it, so if they lost a national title on that basis, I am sure they are fine throwing head to head out the window just as the AP and Coaches did to them in 1993.

Now do Miami's record. What's their best win besides ND? What's the record of the 2 teams they lost to? How many double digit wins do they have?

Thought they said they cant do this?

The committee guy cited a bi-law on air that says they are allowed to move teams that are idle on conference championship weekend.

They can do it, I just have my doubts that they actually will.

With all due respect to the Naval Academy, when your argument includes them as your second best win of the season, you don’t have much of an argument. BYU is getting screwed the most. Their resume is objectively better than ND.

Based on what

SOR: ND-14, Miami-15
SOS: ND- 44, Miami- 57
FPI ND- 7, Miami-9

Their resume is not "clearly" better. They are nearly dead even.

ND is 3-0 over Miami using the metrics you provided. Get back to your house wife chores.
