re: How big a travesty is that Matt Ryan has a MVP award and Drew Brees doesn't?

Sometimes you need a little luck. If Brady isn't suspended the 1st 4 games of the season he wins the MVP instead of Ryan.

Brees never got that luck.

Considering its initial post in this thread, this cat has to be ballscaster. It's already admitted it's infatuation with garbage like what's in the pic.

Certainly debatable. '09 and '11 come to mind. He should have won it in '09 hands down, IMO. In 2011 Aaron Rodgers went insane so I'll concede that year.

Drew isn't as good as his statistics suggest. Lots of gunslinging when the game is already in hand. Look at game 2 vs ATL this year.

The dude can put up 300 yds and 2 tds and be mostly ineffective in any given game.

Doesn't mean he isn't good, but he certainly has a ton of meaningless stats under his belt. The greatest QB wouldn't have 3 losing seasons in a row, I don't care who is on defense.

Matt Ryan only won the MVP award to create a cool story line for tonight's game. The league MVP vs the 4x champ.

's a fricking big travesty I say if the greatest statistical NFL QB ever doesn't win a MVP award before he retires.

I bet you think Colt Brennan deserved a Heisman.

Who's that poster with the Super Bowl trump card?

You don't have to even rely on that with the Falcons. Just post things like:

this

or this

Every team has a few games that work too. For the Saints, just post the Marshawn Lynch run. I know it drives me crazy.

Ryan earned one and Brees didn't. How is that a travesty? Brees has had a better overall career, but MVP isn't a career achievement award. It's for the best player in a particular season. Ryan was that this year, and Brees never was.

2009 should have easily gone to Brees

Brees vs Manning in 2009 regular season:

Comp % - 70.6 (nfl record) vs 68.8
Yards - 4388 (293/g) vs 4500 (281/g)
Avg - 8.5 vs 7.9
TDs - 34 vs 33
TD % - 6.6% vs 5.8
Int - 11 vs 16
Int % - 2.1% vs 2.8%
Rating - 109.6 vs 99.9

That Passer Rating difference is ENORMOUS

It should have been a runaway, but Peyton Manning

This is a myth that idiots who have no idea what they are talking about, aka you, spew.

I've debunked it plenty of times and pff has addressed it. And you bring up this season where we didn't even have many garbage opportunities, usually finding new and exciting ways to lose games. He actually hurt his stats this year in "garbage time"

But feel free to actually support your stupid assumption

I've noticed any reference to the Vernon Davis game drives Saints fans up the wall.

But Matt Ryan's season is better than any season Brees ever had, by a comfortable margin too, so there's that.

Well, it's not so much that. I'm a fan but thank God I finally learned a franchised kid's game can only be taken just so serious before it becomes unhealthy. Still, the puppy love-fanboy-mine's better-hero worship and responses that come along with it is some pretty good entertainment.

"super raining-cum gay-melt" baaaaaahaha... definitely worth the time it took to sign on. Ok, time to go watch TV.
