Hot take - Chiefs would be 1-3 without Chris Jones

Don't even think it's that hyperbolic of a take really. He's that valuable to their defense and they've been in all close games so far.

Hot take no Super Bowl possibly either of the last 2 years

He is most definitely worth every penny spent when they resigned him.

You mean without the refs and him.

Perhaps. But he is a drive killer for opposing offenses. They don't win these close games without him. Offense is looking mediocre so far.

Yeah and this isn't me hating on the chiefs so much as it is acknowledging that he's that much of a difference maker to their team.

Give me Chris Jones over the roided up goon Aaron Donald every time.

Well that’s dumb. Donald is the best football player ever.

I’d say that’s either Jerry Rice or Lawrence Taylor

If not for the Jones and the Chiefs D they would be 0-4. The Chiefs offense is offensive and it looks like Rice is hurt too.

The offense has been hit and miss for sure but through the first 3 games the Chiefs offense was #7 in points scored. That isn't fantastic but it's definitely an improvement over last year. With Rice out that'll go down though.

I thought Chris Jones was the referee

People overlook Jones because he wasn't Aaron Donald. Chris Jones is an absolutely dominating force that just happened to play during the same time the possible GOAT DT played.

Not only that, he should have been the MVP in last SB.

I agree with you
He’s an absolute game changer

Very true. He’s a freak and also comes up big in the clutch.
He did this while at Mississippi State too and it’s not that he takes plays off per se but he does a great job of conserving his energy. Then when a big 3rd down comes up he’s got full energy and goes ape shite causing a fumble, sack, pressures the qb to throw early etc

He's certainly a gamechanger for the Chiefs. It's not by coincidence that he's been there for all 3 championships.

The most underrated part of Chris Jones' game is that he can line up anywhere on the line and dominate whoever is across from him using speed or power

Yeah he has a lot of Richard Seymour to his game.
