The Suns were clearly the better team all year long and in the playoffs but due to matchup

The Suns play a style of basketball that isn't conducive to winning in May and June.

Wow, the Hornets remaining schedule hasn't been discussed since about the 8th post of this thread.

This is so disingenuous. It's not like the Spurs crushed the Hornets in the semis - we took them to a brutal 7 games and it showed when the Lakers crushed them in 5 easy games.

The Hornets last year were better than all teams but the Lakers and Spurs. It showed on the court in the playoffs and in the final standings as well.

that wasn't the point...the point is that just because one team makes it farther than another team in a playoff scenario doesn't necessarily make them the better team.

The Rockets consistently lose in the 1st round of the playoffs. One year might be a "bad matchup" but eventually you would have broken through.

If the Rockets lose in the 1st round again this year you need to just admit that they suck and are a bunch of chokers.

I won't have a problem doing that. This year's team is poised for a WCF showdown with the Lakers.

You example doesn't prove your point very well. The Suns were at a constant disadvantage that series. Most people believe that the better team (statistically) would have won that series if not for the suspensions/injuries.

So if the Rockets lose to Utah again and the Hornets beat Denver is it purely because of matchups?

And if that happened and the Hornets moved on again while the rockets went home again, would the rockets still be the better team?

well we got to play the 7 seed, because we were the 2 seed. We got the easier series because we were the best team in our division during the course of the season. The Rockets played the Jazz because they didn't do as well. Is that hard for you to understand?
