Shreveport is more than twice as far from New Orleans as it is from Dallas.

By your rationale, people in Gary, Indiana should be Colts fans over the Bears even though the Sears Tower and Hancock Buildings are visible in the distance.

I get people in Shreveport being Cowboys/Mavs fans. I admire the hell out of Saints fans in Shreveport, but I get the Cowboys thing.

I don't get people in New Orleans or Baton Rouge who like the Mavs/Cowboys/Rockets over the Saints/Hornets though. You are in the New Orleans sports market. They talk about the Saints and Hornets on your local news stations.

what the frick does that even mean

yeah, im a cowboys, fan. is there a problem with that. hence why i told boom to root for who he wants to root for

i grew up a cowboys fan, just like you grew up a saints fan

i adopted the hornets as my favorite team about three years ago. quit acting like a little bitch

why is it that south louisiana people think that NLA should be booted from the state.

maybe the rest of the SOUTH should band together and annex SLA from the rest of the south bc SLA is NOTHING like the rest of the south

Calm down Ronnie Cat.

I like seeing you this worked up over TDBL but not over turf wars.

Pheebs, you girls have 13 games left to play to Houstons 9. The loss column argument is weak, the HOrnets will lost at least 5 more games tis year.

Fact is the Rockets have lost one more game. For a team that is so much better than the Hornets, why have you guys lost more games?

I don't. Louisiana, N or S, = Saints fan and LSU fan IMO. The Dallas fan in Shreveport has never made much sense to me. The Hornets came to LA a few years ago. I have been a Rockets fan for a long time. I didn't just "pull" for them. They are my team. They were my team when Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning were your team's stars. You don't just drop your team like that unless they were never really your team in the 1st place. I tried pulling for NO. It just didn't seem right.

If you grow up in Shreveport, your parents will probably take you to Dallas a few times a year. Maybe to buy your first suit, or when your dad needs to upgrade his truck with 140,000 miles to a truck with "only" 90,000 miles, or when your parents take you to Six Flags for the first time because your mom has a "kids get in free" pass. You'll probably drive past Texas Stadium and your dad will tell you "look son, that's where the Cowboys play". The Cowboys, who are on TV every single week.

Your first NFL game will probably be your dad taking you to a Cowboys preseason game (because since you grow up in Shreveport/Bossier, you're probably lower middle class or middle class and those are the only tickets your dad can afford), and he'll buy you a Cowboys pennant to match the dingy hand-me-down Cowboys sweatshirt that you inherited from your older brother, who is off at Community College studying to be a forklift operator (like your dad). Your dad will pull over halfway home on the drive back to buy a new tin of chewing tobacco, and another 40 oz. beer "for the road".

Meanwhile, at school 7 of 10 of your male classmates will be experiencing the exact same thing. Cowboys rule in Shreveport because it's just so much closer than New Orleans and that's all they know. The "God's Team" and "America's team" plays real well to those folks.

You are clueless. You want to know what team kids grow up watching in Shreveport?? LSU. Not Baylor, not Arkansas, not OU, not fricking Texas. You want to know why? They live in Louisiana. Pro Football has no tradition and really not much of a following in Shreveport. I know there are Dallas fans in Shreveport and I really don't give a frick, but we have just as many Saints fans. I think the problem is that the Saints have had, what, 5 successful seasons? NOBODY wants to root for a loser. Trust me, there is a reason that all of these "hornets fans" just started popping up last year.

I have been a Saints fan through all the tough years. I am used to my teams not succeeding. I am no front runner thats for sure.

THE ROCKETS ARE THE BETTER TEAM, did you forget the beatdown last Monday night?!

This is such a terrible argument as to why one team is better than another. It's the NBA. Weird things happen from time to time. For example...

Your beloved Rockets lost to the Clippers WITH Yao and McGrady playing by 13 points. BEAT DOWN.

The game last week was one isolated game out of 82. Congratulations. Fact of the matter is you haven't made it out of the first round in forever, yet proceed to talk like you're the best around. These Hornets are more battle tested than the Rockets are and they've been to the playoffs once. Win a series, then come back and talk to us.

please bro, win a series against somebody other than the mavs and YOU come back and talk. Anybody who knows anything about the NBA knows that the Jazz would've blasted the Hornets in round 1 last year, the only reason the Hornets made it to round 2 is because they were matched up with the worst team in the western conference playoffs. I guess you think Cleveland State is better than West Virginia because they made it one round further in the tourney this year.
