Awful Announcing link

Can the board give it a rest for a bit when it comes to hating on Herbie?

It was way more than that, but sure he was emotional last night. He’s human. He’s been through a lot this past year

Probably not a good idea to be in a booth with Herbie this season

That's fine, but he didn't have to act like Ohio St has been through so much adversity because they lost a football game to a rival.

Also, Ryan Day's father committed suicide when he was 9? According to Kirk I would have thought it was this year or something when he said all they overcame.

It was ridiculous. He could have just said he was emotional after all he's been through, but Ohio St had a top 5 team to start the season and won with superior talent. Good for them.

Absolutely. He should be human. Emottion is cool. I actually like Herbie. I just can't stand how he made it seem like Ohio St had overcame something tragic that other teams didn't have to deal with.

I hope his wife is able to beat her diagnosis and things get better for the both of them.

I’m a Herbie fan. I grew up on Gameday.

It’s hilarious that he was shite on for years for being a B1G homer, then when he knights for the SEC this year, those same fans still hate him.

I want him to keep playing the heel at this point.

The hate this dude gets is unreal. I think he's very good at his job and very objective.

OSU fans keep saying he cheated on his wife and apparently he was a dick to local media in Columbus.

I don’t think the former has been substantiated, and the latter is funny. Local media guys can be very douchy. I know they are in BR.

Not that I get too deep into the message board gossip, but I’ve never heard anything like this before.

I’ve only seen it mentioned a couple of times on here randomly. Something like his wife demanded to leave because he was fooling around with college girls. Very vague “rumor”

That explains why he was emotional last night.

Cut him a break.
