Against the Colts Pickens stood there as one of their RBs got stuffed at the goal line. He later said,”I didn’t want to block in case I got injured like Tank Dell!”

Man, this corresponds to all the selfish entitlement among modern athletes. Don’t play in bowl games because you could get hurt, don’t block in the NFL because you could get hurt. We have allowed selfish entitled players to ruin the competitive aspects and gritty play of football.

George was known as a ferocious blocker in college and played in all bowl games even when gimpy and barely able to run.

I would just chalk this up to playing on a shite team with shite QBs that can't ever get him the ball.

I would probably be flirting with suicide if i was a skill player on the steelers but i haaaaate the “shite qb” excuse. Saints fans won’t shut up about defending Olave because muh Carr. fricking Randy Moss couldn’t stand most of his QBs not named Tom Brady. TO literally basically told the world he thought Jeff Garcia was gay, Larry Fitzgerald played with all kinds of shite QBs but still produced. Same with Andre Johnson. The great ones produce regardless.

Why defend this with such bullshite. He’s a pro playing on a team still capable of making the playoffs..

He's a professional. This is a lame arse excuse and it's the same one Falcons fans bend over to make for Kyle Pitts.

I feel like I need to back up. I'm not defending it or saying it's "right". It's a bad look and it's a shite thing to do at your job.

I was simply pointing out that with GP in particular this didn't start until the last few months.

George Pickens seems like the exact person to think and act like this.

Pickens definitely has some screws loose, but dude was hell of a blocker at UGA.
He prolly hates being on that shite team with shite QBs.

Come to the falcons George. We also have a shite team and shite QB, but it's warmer.

Ufff... Jeff may not be in the NFL HOF but he's a unanimous pick for the "over achieving in marriage" HOF

I don’t remember this, but I do remember Zach Bronson implying that Jeff Garcia and TO’s locker room issues were due to their relationship off the field.

You don’t play in a bowl game if you are holding a winning lottery ticket and a multi million multi year contract and don’t want to throw it all away.

Completely understandable and I would try to sway my kid to do the same thing. Not doing so is moronic. Some hardcore LSU fans’ feelings don’t supersede a kids financial security for him and his family.

Its amazing that before the previous decade, all those guys in the NFL played in their bowl games and still made millions. What if you are on a losing team in the NFL. Should you just opt out, I mean it’s meaningless at that point?
