Being in the Hall of Fame doesn't mean shite anymore. It's so saturated it's pathetic.

Here's a spin-off thread: what sport still has a hall of fame where its actually hard to get in?

Clay Matthews has 81 career sacks. Is he a hall of famer?

Sorry but JJ Watt, if he never plays another down, is not a HOF player.

I know the sports are different, but an MLB player who put up those types of comparative numbers for baseball in 2-3 seasons wouldn't even be considered.

MLB HOF and voters suck.

Great guy and player but his contributions don't mean much.

There isn't any noticeable drop off in defensive production when he isn't on the field.

They should have traded him while he still had prime value.

Yes, he also has secured a spot on the Old Yankee Workshop for his effort building log cabins.

Obviously volume doesn’t matter all that much to voters. Terrell Davis had under 8000 yards rushing yet he’s in the HOF.

A big part of Davis getting in was his postseason success too imo.

It's football.

Why would post season success matter for a RB?

Can a RB choke?

He played in 8 post season games and is the 6th all time rusher in yards (postseason) at an average of 142.5 ypg. Emmitt Smith for reference played in 17 games and leads him by ~400 yards.

I’m not defending the decision, just stating part of why I believe the voters voted him in. Post season is where legends are built. Voters care about that stuff. Kinda like Heisman moment in CFB.

Injuries or no injuries he hasn’t done a thing in two seasons. Even playing in just 5 games last season he was in a slump and had 0 sacks.

As of the moment no HOF. Needs to stay healthy.
