He’s become so sappy it’s obnoxious.
He also works overtime to pre-manufacture calls and soundbites.
He’s too big for his britches.

I hate Jim Nantz on the call. Was elated when he left CBB.

The Masters was probably the worst call I've ever heard from Nantz. Who is traditionally really good.
Told like a 10 minute story about Rory on 18 that seemed like he had been preparing for 5 years only for Rory to miss the short putt. Unfortunate for his call, but it is what it is. Then he tells the same story again just shortened on the playoff hole. So lame.
I was really hoping Rose was going to win.
One, because Rory is a douche, and two, we might have gotten to see Jim Nantz cry.

Nantz was another Rory gag from cutting himself.

The way people on TV talk about The Masters has become too reverent and too precious for me, and the full on glaze that Nantz has for Augusta makes me hate it (even though I bet it is an awesome experience in-person).
I disagree. That place is still somehow underrated. It is by far the best experience in sports. Nothing about that place is anything below top notch.
I think about this when I have to take a piss in a trough at a big LSU game

The only way being a new father uniquely relates to professional golfers is that they generally fall off their game after getting married/having kids.
People don't understand the absolute focus it takes to compete at that level, something that is tough to do once a family comes along (which is a good thing; they have their priorities in order).
Very few have been able to blast right through the transition with no letup. The vast majority revert to average/above average for awhile. See Jordan Spieth.

Nantz has always been overrated. Wish he would leave the NFL broadcasts the way he did college basketball.
