I agree with the OP that it was a horrible mistake to not call travelling on the play. Haven't read all of the pages but not sure why it appears to be a pissing match regarding Steph, KD, Harden, and Lebron. All are great players still playing at very high levels. Harden gets more hate (regarding on the court play) than the others for different reasons. He hasn't won a ring yet and is the most difficult to officiate.

KD was always less than his potential in big moments before he went to GS. I will be interested to see how he fares after leaving.

Oh I don’t put hardwn Over any of those three. There are four players those three and harden and then a clear drop off to who is #5 in today’s nba. All 4 of are prob top 20 all time players. Tbt steph Kevin and lebron are all probably top 10.

shite is ridiculous

Takes 5 side steps and a whistle is blown. Of course it isn’t on Harden for the obvious travel. It’s against Rubio giving Harden 3 bull shite free throws

he's a star and therefore receives star treatment, aint nothing new in the league

Is that some of the reason Harden tends to struggle a bit more in the playoffs ?

Absolutely.

exactly
and harden himself admitted he got away with a travel.
refs miss calls, it happens.

i dont like watching him parade to the foul line either, but the vast majority of his fouls occur because he's an unstoppable offense player, not because the refs have decided to bail him out of every shot or drive

Has played some real low quality playoff teams over his playoff career.
Why are you acting like the west is some mythical land where Lebron doesn't put up incredible games over and over?

I bet his stats against GS in the playoffs are INSANE.

Dude led a finals series against them in points rebounds assists blocks and steals

I'd have to disagree with this. He gets bailed out a lot, he knows he gets bailed out a lot, and he tailors his game to maximize the number of times he gets bailed out in any given game.

Hey, it works, so might as well keep doing it.

Most of his drawn fouls ( the majority by a long shot) come when he is attacking the rim and has his man beat. Like grand just said. He may get one or two times a game where he tricks someone into fouling him when shooting a three pointer. but the majority is just straight up beating his man off the dribble. Either give Up that easy layup of foul him.

According to the tracking data on NBA.com dating back to 2013-2014, 1383 of his 4198 have come on drives to the basket (32.9%). For the current season, 79 of his 264 free throw attempts (29.9%) have come on drives to the basket.

That tracking data isn’t all that reliable. He can be at three point line and have advantage on his man and that wouldn’t be considered a drive to the basket. Even though that’s where he was headed.

obviously neither of our takes are supportable by data, and clearly he does get bailed out on occasion. but he's earned that leeway by being so dynamic a scorer. if he wasn't already torching defenders, he wouldn't be getting a call benefit

Remember when it said lebron was the slowest player in the league.

Tbt If you gonna say a certain % of his fouls was A, then you gotta say what % of his fouls were B, c, d, and e. For comparison sake. You gotta define all the other ways that fouls can be classified. Otherwise it is hog wash.

Also with fouls you don’t know if it was intentional by the defense, maybe they were down and fouled to get the ball back. Maybe they had a foul to give.

Tracking data don’t tell you that. And someone who watches CC one or two times a year DEF ain’t where you should be going for your answer neither.
