You have no idea what you're talking about. Jesuit is a white team. I know it's more mixed now, but Rummel and John Curtis have been majority white teams in the pass.

Why is the private school bitching.? And wait ..."Happy Jesuit gets a shot at the title, but select/non select split still sucks".......

You should be happy, you won......looking back it's the first state title since 1960..
So they had a good team this year and you spout off about public schools and playing the best... Where has your sad arse been the last 53 years????
Be glad your not playing Destrahan or Acadiana next week.. Go home and celebrate your special state title for a week till the real state champion is named....

it really breaks down when they start letting team play up. There is no on in the 1A division in the non-select group. Teams with 0 wins were making the playoffs.

Jesuit lost to Ponchatoula by 3 and Rummel by 3... they're a legit state championship team no matter who wins between Destrehan and Acadiana

Publics vote to get out privates, then claim they are the REAL state champions. Ponchy beat Jesuit, but rummel best finalist Acadiana 39-6, catholic beat quarterfinalist Mandy 45-0, and Semi finalist West Monroe lost to Calvary baptist Nobody knows who the real champ is anymore

5A i will give the edge to Jesuit if Acadiana wins, Destrehan if they win

4A Neville and Warren Easton would both beat all comers in select

3A U-High no contest

2A Calvary no contest

1A Mangham and Haynesville would both beat OCS

so depending on the 5A either select or nonselect would have a 3-2 edge. we really needed a split for this?

Being a Catholic League alum, i will say that it will be fun seeing Rummel/Jesuit/BM/Aug/HC meet in the Finals/Semis on a regular basis.

Plus the playoff games for the most part will be local so they will be easy to attend. The tailgate before Rummel/Jesuit this year was a lot of fun.

So we changed the entire structure of the playoffs because two schools (Curtis and Evangel) are football factories. Pitiful.

Address those two schools in stead of watering down the rest of the leagues.

The problem lies in 1,2, and 3A. There was no reason to separate 4 and 5A.

And then Acadiana should have lost to Lafayette high the very next week, needing a trick play in the last minute to pull out a win. This isn't the same Acadiana team that's playing right now, but you can also say that your division 1 champion lost to a team that didn't make it past the second round in 5-A. So your point is moot.

Look I get the fact that its split and yada yada yada, but really if you look at the past 10-15 years before the split, the catholic league had one championship? It wouldn't be that much different the next 10-15 years if there was no split.

Jesuit lost to Rummel in the regular season. I guess the real 5A champion is at home.

I don't know what that means, but I guess pointing to a score from week 2 or 3 from the regular season shouldn't be the determining factor.
