The names of these private recruit for them. I wasn't very good at sports, and it was more an academic decision, but my parents paid for me to go to a catholic school. In fact I transferred to a public because of travel distance for multiple sports. Games were easy, but practice started becoming a problem from 50 miles away.
My sister's son is becoming a park star in all sports and my sister will be paying for him to go to a private school pretty soon. No one has offered her anything and she expects to pay. I don't think tuition is given as often as some people think and whether people want to believe it or not, these schools probably give a lot more tuition help to non football and basketball players than they give to these athletes. My daughter goes to a catholic school and played girls soccer and gets a little off her tuition for service hours. I didn't have that and I played baseball and football.

May be correct. But how many good athletes need to come in to a small division school to give a school a competitive advantage? That is why some states are looking at addressing the issue differently for different size schools.
There is no perfect solution. In Tennessee they are warning public schools that if they split then in a few years they will have concerns over magnate schools etc. that start dominating athletics.
You can't legislate integrity in any area. However, I am of the opinion that private schools should have their own division. And if that happens, we will still have public schools that recruit...but that does not change my opinion.

Just click Louisiana and any school you'd like.

Agreed. I think they would be shocked to know the whole free thing is such bull shite. Like I said, it happens for maybe 1 or 2 kids. Let me tell you, the church just loves giving shite away for free
Free for the athletic kid don't mean tuition free. The case I gave of my gf's brother his tuition was PAID it wasn't free, it was just paid by an anonymous donor. This wasn't even for football, this was for soccer. It was something like a doctor that paid tuition for a couple of the best players on his kids club soccer team that couldn't afford tuition so they could go to the school. Long story short, he got hurt, quit soccer, "anonymous" tuition stopped, finished his last two years at public school.

All this jackass keeps throwing out is about John Curtis. There are far more teams than John Curtis and Evangel out there.
Yep and how many of those school have a disproportionate amount of D1 athletes to it's population there's a few new ones that are churning up. I don't complain at all about Catholic league schools in football because a school with 1000 boys it's logical that it could produce 8 D1 players in 5 years like Rummel has. It's not logical that a school with 200 boy's/girls could produce 21 in 5 years.

Recruiting? Are you fricking kidding me? BM and Jesuit do not recruit for athletics. They may have at one time tried to provide a divers student body, but that is no longer a problem.
Like I said I really don't care about the tuition shite, or even the recruiting shite. Kids should be able to go whatever school they want and I don't blame them in many cases for choosing to go to a private school. My problem is private schools can get kids from anywhere and that's a huge disadvantage to public schools especially in other sports. With that you see nearly whole club soccer teams going to the same private school, whole travel baseball teams going to the same school.

In the past 5 years only 21? Damn that's horrid. I'm sure St. Aug is in the 30's at least.'
Kids with D1 offers from 2015-2011 according to rivals. (Just a few notable teams)
- St Aug - 25 (had 12 seniors with d1 offers last year including #1 player in country, that should tell you about Crutch's coaching ability.)
- Curtis - 21 (7 in 2014, 8 in 2013, only 3 this year)
- Evangel - 14
- Destrehan - 12
- West Monroe - 11
- Rummel - 8
- Acadiana - 5
- U Lab - 5
- Cavalry - 4

It blows my mind how upset private schools are by the split, while most of the people against it are being huge hypocrites.

Yeah, go ahead and ask Wildman77(Garett Brumfield's dad) or Jrevonte(Dylan's dad) if Mahaffey recruited their sons and had someone pay their tuition. Maybe they wanted their kids to go to a good school? Get back to me and let me know what they say

The only black kids at all private schools, except St. Aug are obviously athletes or affirmative action kids. Didn't you know that? There is no way at all that there are middle class black families who want to provide a good education for their kids.
You know, except my several of my friends' parents.

I just love that people cry it's unfair that privates recruit, then someone posts a link that shows D1 players from each school. Jesuit has none on the list (though Debo came from there, so the list is inaccurate). Then people say how the publics would destroy Jesuit, after we have established the publics split because it would be no fair to have to play the privates. My head is spinning-- Jesuit sucks, and they would lies to the public schools, who left bc it would be unfair to play Jesuit. Wtf lol

Rummel, Jesuit and Curtis.....aren't those the schools where the white folks in the stands cheering for the black players while their sad arse kid sits the bench....oh yea, I remember. Saw Rummel win a State title in 12 had only one white kid on defense....I guess it just worked out like that...

Not being racist, they are just the better players....look at the numbers . Look at college. Look at the NFL....there is nothing racist about that...it is what it is....

Are you talking about Jesuit's 4 black starters and 18 white ones?
Oh you didn't know Jesuit was almost all white?

As someone who gre up in Texas and played high school football there, I don't get why y'all bitch about this. Private and public schools should not play each other. One can recruit and put kids on scholarships, the other just has to play with what they got.
Eta: I'm not saying all the good athletes at the private schools were recruited to play there. But private schools have the ability to do that freely if they wanted.

Yeah that's true with the exception of a few private schools, most texas private schools suck at football.

They have trouble understanding this point. As someone who has worked very closely with Louisiana HS sports, schools like John Curtis are sports factories whether their graduates like to agree or not. These schools are what Oak Hill Academy is to basketball, it's 2 things called scholarships and recruiting

Just bc you have some schools that are really good does not mean all publics should not play privates
