I love how public schools complain about recruiting, MAKE YOUR SCHOOL WORTH A shite AND KIDS WOULD BE DYING TO GO THERE, IT IS FREE REMEMBER? Look at the publics that are good in football, they are the ones that usually have a good education as well. If Lee High was a solid school like Zachary or West Monroe etc, they would get a ton of the kids that go to Catholic

This is really the issue. You have about 8-10 schools in the state that are basically sports factories, under the guise of Praising the Lord. These schools have small enrollments, but, almost the entire student body plays sports. Therefore, these few schools have teams that are much larger and deeper than the other schools in those classifications. Further, these private schools have money due to tax-deductible donations and they are competing against a bunch of poor, rural schools.

Kinda like John Curtis racking up all of those 2A championships while being in a district with a school like Springfield. Curtis dresses 99 kids, the smaller schools would be lucky to dress 40. But by the blessings of JESUS they were blessed to win 280 consecutive district championships.

Pussies. I'd love to see the private schools GTFO of the LHSAA.

Ok well most kids can't go to a certain public school unless they live within the schools zone, with the exceptions of magnet schools. You can't be zoned for Comeaux and go to Acadiana. But you could go to Teurlings or STM.

Ok, that is an advantage of a private school. An advantage of a Public school is they get students who cant afford private. Both schools have inherent advantages

I'm just saying that the issue is not so black and white. You have schools that do things the right way and some that take it to another level. Those late 90's and early 2000's evangel teams, just with the shear numbers of the student body, made anyone who knew anything about high school football knew that something was going on over there. And John Curtis too.

It's those extremes that brought about this split. It had nothing to do with the catholic league teams because it seems they were doing things the right way.I think it's sad personally but there's nothing you can do about it.

Yeah and if you're a great athlete your tuition gets magically covered by an anonymous scholarship donor, it's how my gf's brother attended a private school that shall not be named.

Ok so 1 or 2 kids go for free. Every single one is free at a public school.

Yep just 1 or 2. This school wasn't even an athletic power, how many you think those football factories have? Just 3 or 4?

Get out from under your rock, a school like Curtis has dozen's and dozens of kids every year from poor inner city schools that can't afford to go to school at Curtis. You think if they really could afford to send their kids to Curtis they would be living in these impoverished areas?

Lousiana is one of the only schools where the privates can even compete with the publics. In most states, the schools are split because the privates would get hurt playing the publics. You know why we are different? Because our public schools suck arse at TEACHING. Like I said, the Public schools that have good academics are usually still the best teams. Imagine that

Well good thing they don't give out trophies for the first three weeks of the season.

That was my point. There is zero way to tell who is better between the D1 winner and the 5a winner

The delusion is strong with you sir.

Sure you have kids like the group that got recruited from South Lafourche a few years ago to go to Curtis that pay their own tuition. Those kids were from wealthy families.

Those kids from the inner city who's homes are worth less than a years tuition are no way in hell paying Curtis to go to school there. Schools like EDW/Vandy/Houma Christian probably do just have a few that get their tuition paid for them, a school like Curtis not so much.

I personally don't care much about the tuition, my problem is with being able to get players from anywhere. When I was in high school I had looked up Curtis's entire roster just to prove a point and they had kids from 8 different parishes and 2 kids that had transferred from out of state. You can fill all your needs when you can pull kids from that large an area, public schools just have to take what you get and hope you get something good. Unless you're one of the public schools that do cheat also.

Finally something we agree on. Shitty New Orleans schools are the fuel to Curtis & the Catholic league.

I think you are wrong about Curtis. I actually think everyone is wrong about how Curtis wins. Everyone throws the recruiting blah blah blah, but answer me this, how many true studs does Curtis usually have? That isnt why they win.
