This has been a disastrous start

Kayla DiCello is out. Guessing ACL on the vault landing. Left in a wheelchair.
Shilese Jones knee wrapped, will not do vault but will compete in the other events, it appears.

Yes, very disastrous. I thought maybe they'd put Marta back in charge. They showed Alicia Sacramone - even she looked a bit worried.

Different note - why can they never get these girls pants that fit?

I thought Jade looked good on the beam then the judges just fricked her.

Leanne Wong very solid so far. Leading after first rotation. Two good routines.
Jordan Chiles still looks like the ever-solid and consistent gymnast. I think she ends up on the squad - and hopefully this comment is not a jinx.

Her score was "solid" compared to other scores. It's not her forte so probably not too bad for her moving forward.

Shilese Jones on bars, where she is incredibly good. Very good routine. I don't know if she did her full difficulty or not.

I think Jade struggles sometimes with a lack of artistry.

Very good bar routine on Suni Lee. Some commentators saying that was enough to put her on the team.

Yeah that has always been the knock on her gymnastics, yet she won gold on floor.

Jones is out, at least for tonight.

Biles had a really rough go at the beam. She stumbled on the mount and just never recovered.

I’m not crazy about them. The striped part looks odd but that’s just me.

Glad to see Suni back in form after she was out with health issues.

Simone with a shaky beam routine and she did not look happy. After two rotations, Leanne Wong still in the lead. Impressive night for her so far.

Jordan Chiles great execution on floor. I don't like the music. I think classical music fits gymnastics better with some of the balletic movements. But her talent is undeniable.

Hezly Rivera on beam. She is a bright star for the future most likely. She might be one of the youngest at the competition.
Beam finished up well for her but with some extra steps on dismount. At her age, she only has some little things to clean up and she could be a real force for 2028 and the Worlds in the interim.

When I first saw that it reminded me of 1970s era furniture but I'm no longer in danger of having a seizure.

What’s the Olympic’s stance on She-man aka Ladybois?

I'm not sure. I thought they banned the trans thing, but I'm not totally sure.

Biles looks absolutely incredible when her head isn't in a dumpster. Even considering the step-out, that was unbelievable.

Simone’s triple double is one of the most incredible things I’ve seen.

She gets SO high.
