Just tell them you mailed it last week and it probably got lost.

My biggest question is, if Team USA has video evidence that their appeal was made within the 1 minute window, what evidence did the committee use to overturn Chile's bronze to begin with. Something doesn't add up.
That evidence wasn’t allowed to be submitted.
As bad as the US systems are, foreign is far worse.

Split the medal in two.

Chiles has multiple medals already. She can do what she wants I don’t blame her for being stubborn here if she truly believes she is in the right. But it’s a bronze medal and she has a gold. I’m not sure the personal point of being stubborn here if she is wrong or someone else does seem to deserve it. It’s not like it’s the only or best thing she has.

Would all be a moot point had the US staff informed the judges of the routine change before she did it.

A) She’s not wrong. Her score was incorrect, and the correct score puts her in 3rd place. If they missed the appeal window, then they missed the appeal window. However, it’s unclear what evidence was used to determine that the window was missed.
B) The gymnast being awarded the bronze medal in her place doesn’t deserve it any more than Chiles does. Again, the gymnast who likely deserves it most is the one who was ruled to have stepped out when she didn’t actually. Without that penalty, she would have been in 3rd regardless of Chiles’ correct score.

What the hell kind of mindset is that? If she earned it, she earned it. 3rd place in the world is nothing to scoff at just because you’ve won 1st place before.

Team USA says you're wrong and says they have timestamp proof.
Team USA has timestamped proof the Romanians submitted an appeal about stepping out of bounds in time?

Elite level competitor is stubborn as a mule, shocker. I like it, stay frosty.
