Who’s the greatest player to ever be traded?

I don’t think we will or have seen a player like Ohtani get traded(if they do). Guys on my local radio said they think it would be like 3/5 of your top prospects and 3 MLB starters. All for a guy who might not even resign with your team! I think it’s gonna be interesting to see how this unfolds.

Gretzky. It’s not Ruth. Gretzky was already the greatest hockey player of all time when he was traded. Ruth wasn’t the Bambino until after he arrived in the Bronx.

Good ones with Ruth and Gretzky, what about NBA and NFL?

It's a technicality and probably shouldn't count, but technically Lebron was traded to Miami. But again, that's probably cheating the spirit of this thread lol.

You probably have to add qualifications to being traded when they were great-elite.

Won't happen then, unless a deal for an extension is in place.

Trading Ruth to the Yankees is the reason the Yankees are a global brand. They are the pinnacle of American sports and a gold standard in athletics. And the Red Sox are the Red Sox.
