Reggie Bush is the best player over the past decade in college football.
Most athletic...yes. Best player, no. That has to go to Tebow. Unstoppable in short yardage situations, Heisman, and 2 undisputed NCs. Plus another season that went undefeated until losing to the eventual NC in the SECCG.

For 1 season. He had the single best year IMO, but Tebow had the better career IMO.

I can't tell how many games Bush saved the day for USC - he was the most talented guy on the field in every game he played.

Bush wasn't even on the field for the most important play in the history of USC football (the play that would have defined the Trojans as the greatest dynasty of the modern era).

I think what Cam did was more impressive

That is bonkers. Remember, for the first half of the 2000s, the Big 12 was the best conference in college ball. VY destroyed the conference, beat #4 Ohio State IN THE SHOE AT NIGHT (which had never been done before) and, with the national title on the line, beat USC in their home town when they had 2 Heisman winners and an insane win streak. That season, VY was also the only QB ever to get to 3,000 yards passing & 1,000 yards rushing and he hardly ever played past the mid 3rd qtr of a football game because Texas slaughtered almost everyone.

And this goes against the argument the number of times he saved USC how?

No he didn't. The big 12 was not the best conferece by 2004 and 2005 when VY was the full time starter. In 2005 the 2nd highest ranked Big 12 team was TT at #22, there were a total of 4 Big 12 teams in the final top 25. By cntrast there were 5 teams from the SEC West ranked in the top 15 last year.

2010 SEC >>> 2005 Big xii. Its not even close

In 1998, the SEC had 2 teams in the top 5, and 4 in the top 16. Big 12 had one at number 10, 11, 15 and 21.

I can't believe anyone would say anyone other than Tebow, other than specific partisans (Texas and Vince, Auburn and Cam). But as a neutral fan, how can you not say Tebow?

Fine, from 99-02 then roughly

FWIW, in 98 both had 4 teams in the top 19.

99 is debately, Big 12 has 00-02 for sure, maybe 03

I'll take the over if the # is 12

Though feel free to dispute my claim that the 2010 SEC was tougher than the 2005 Big 12
