This is quite the dramatic shift in college basketball as it creates a pretty formidable basketball conference. I suspect Tulane/Memphis will join now as Gonzaga brings a major ratings boost. Gonzaga averages 900k per broadcast whereas the old PAC-12 averaged 200k for basketball.

The rumors are that the Pac-12 has agreed to share football revenue with Gonzaga to get them to join

so it seems like the Pac-12 may want them to have a team eventually

July 1, not January 1

January 1 would be right in the middle of basketball season

Its going to take a moderately big football program going to the PAC to have any kind of real impact on other programs.

I'll believe this when I see it. Makes no sense. Basketball doesn't make enough money to even move the needle compared to football.

And the Pac 12 should've done this years ago. Their old commish was fricking worthless. Never made one single move to improve that conference and try to save it.

They should also add Wichita State in basketball only and give Gonzaga a basketball partner. Or potentially even St. Mary's,

There is no room on their campus for a stadium. Where would they play?

One Spokane Stadium

This just opened, replacing Joe Albi Stadium, which was big enough for college football, but miles from campus. It’s four blocks west of campus. They would need to expand, but looks like they have the space. .
