The weekend warrior walks a fine line between the integrity of the game and speed of play. As tours show us, if you were to follow every rule, and play by every rule then you would be looking at 5-6 hour rounds for everyone on the course, (pros spend a whole lot less time looking for balls, take way less strokes, and play a much cleaner game) inevitable backups occur. This isn't feasible and it would make golf a whole lot less enjoyable.
I never go back and re-tee my golf ball, even though in many cases re-teeing would lower golfers scores. Because when you drop by an out of bounds line you are dropping in a bad area it could cost more strokes than re-teeing. Especially for anyone under a 10 handicap like everyone who post on TD.

What's the highest score you guys card?
I tell my group to pick up at triple
Used to do double par, but switched at some point for whatever reason

Double par on par 3's (which i just realized is a triple
) and triples on 4's on 5's. In reality though, it has no effect on me since my handicap won't take anything over a double.

With our regular group we a play a point system, so usually double is the most anyone takes because double = 0 points. Also, it is all I can put down for my handicap anyway. In a tournament, I just play it out.

What are the Cutoffs for your cap to stop taking triples?
I'm sure I'm there but I haven't looked it uo

I Equitable stroke control
Keeps disaster wholes from trashing your handicap
Doesn't mean you're not supposed to card it for your round though

This mandatory procedure reduces high hole scores for handicap purposes in order to make handicaps more representative of a player's potential ability.

You should still card it. It will be properly taken care of by whomever keeps your handicap/computer program.

10.7 so even if I right down a 10 my handicap only get's hit with a 7. Which sucks for me, because it falsely lowers my handicap. I play very aggressive and I will usually have about 7 pars and 2 birdies, and 5 bogies, 1 double, and 3 triples or worse. So I never shoot my freaking handicap. It is a huge liability in tournaments and I hate it.
See Whenever we have the OT golf tournament it will be handicapped off of what everyone claimed theirs was on TD trying to sound like a professional.

WHEN IS THIS GOING TO HAPPEN?

Triple because that's the rule on the amateur tour.

I don't have a USGA official handicap but I use an app that uses the formula so I'm confident it's accurate
9.7, which probably makes me about the third worst golfer on the board

10.7 here don't hit blades, only average 270 off the tee.My OT golf card has officially been revoked.

I do the same, I don't wanna pay for a USGA handicap.
Which app do you use, mine just says Handicap and it's a golf ball on a tee. It keeps a record of your scores, and you input the course rating and slope of the course you shot them on and it gives you a projected handicap
