I’m a LSU fan like my father before me and his father before him.

I pull for every Louisiana team, not named Tulane, and not currently playing LSU.

I root for ULL, but will never support Louisiana.

If your past experience is LSU in Tiger Stadium or the Saints in the Dome, you will be underwhelmed but entertained. If your past experience is small college you will not be surprised. If your past experience is high school, you will really have a good time.

Hope you have a good time, and go ULL Ragin Cajuns!

They're fun, I live in Lafayette and go to games when they don't conflict with LSU. Not the same level of atmosphere and sheer size of crowd, but still fun.

Napier, as you'll see, doesn't make a lot of mistakes. He runs a tight ship and puts his players in position to execute VERY consistently.

He also does a good job of hiding and deflecting from team weaknesses. You'll see those DB go way the frick back if they know a WR is faster than them.

Likewise, if the other team has a stud TE, he doesn't hesitate to throw two defenders on him to simply scrub the best option from the other team's playbook.

While I wouldn't mind him coming to LSU, I think he is going to hope and pray that he can work his way to Bama once Saban finishes up. I'm on the Mel Tucker train these days even though that win could make it harder for Woody to get him to come.

Just curious why not UL or Louisiana?

2nd largest public University in our state, on the verge of the highest research classification. Consecutive years ranked in the top 25.

LSU is not going by LSU A&M so what’s the difference other than a few insecure corrupt LSU grad lawyers and politicians that thought UL sounds better than LSU way back in 1984. Athletic branding should be respected or can only LSU have it’s cake and eat it?

As I’ve stated before I doubt USC cares what a school like UC Berkeley (Branded as California or Cal) calls itself. The UC system just like the UL system does not have an official flagship school. Don’t be so insecure, UL is not a threat in the Sun Belt to an SEC school like LSU. It’s good for our state when other schools strive for excellence.

In 1923 then SLI had a future WestPoint Heisman Trophy winner (then called National Player of the Year) leading them vs LSU. LSU prevailed 7-3 in the closest game of 22 all-time games between the schools. The teams have not played since 2009 and only 3 times after 1938.

Notes about the gameday experience:

Parking across Congress St is free, but traffic on Congress is abysmal before game time. Give yourself at least 45 minutes before the game to get through traffic and park.

Don't expect there to be tailgating. There's okay tailgating for saturday games, but it's non-existant for week night games. They do have an outdoor stage with bands sometimes, so there's that.

Concessions (including beer) are dirt cheap and decent quality. The issue is lines. Plan with your group to make sure that you get as much out of each concessions stand trip as possible.

They will not sell anyone more than two beers per trip to the concession stand, so plan accordingly.

UL student section may not have the quantity of an SEC school, they may not have the noise, but they have top shelf quality women. It's truly insane what percentage of the student section is absolutely drop dead gorgeous women. It's a far far far far higher percentage than at an LSU game.

The crowd will generally be sparse and atmosphere about on par with a midweek LSU baseball game.

Tickets are cheap, or often free.

They do a good job of mixing piped in music with the band playing, much better than an LSU game.

Their scoreboard is glitchy as hell. Expect there to be multiple clock outages.

Sunbelt officiating is the most incompetent of any conference. These people are morons. The calls will be completely random lacking any agenda, rhyme, or reason. The potential for an extra down or being shorted a down is entirely within the realm of possibility.

As for the play on the field, expect ULL's WR's to drop passes, ULL's QB to overthrow wide open recievers, the Cajun lines to dominate the trenches, running game to control the clock, and the defense to swarm to the ball and rack up turnovers.

Not sure who is dumber... OP, or people responding to this thread that can’t figure out that OP created his account to pretend like he knows nothing about ULL, and is going to check it out.

Bringing up the LSU A&M thing makes the non-alum LSU fans irate and hypocrites.

Prepare to be downvoted to oblivion.

Will LSU and ULL fans get along if Napier becomes LSU’s next coach?

For the life of me I don’t get why these threads go pages on end between the 2 schools fans about what ULL calls themselves when honestly the only dog in that fight should be ULM fans and nobody there or here on TD gives a shite other than Louisiana Lady.
