If only two teams qualify, then only two teams play for the championship.
If 3 qualify, then the top "seed" since playoff people like seeds so much, gets a bye week.
you do know that money runs the world right?
Who would sponsor (and pay tens of millions to do so) a possible game? Advertising has to be booked way in advance. Corporate tickets have to be purchased. Hotels...and so on.
You can't have something that big being a 'possibility'.
