Giannis basically went to the South Beach Bucks. This doesn’t move the needle

That’s what I got from this honestly. The Heat’s roster with him is barely punching top 5 in the East, it’s very middle of the pack. And that’s without a healthy Magic starting lineup included

I’m just glad Riley finally took a swing. The Heat have been on that 8/9 bubble for like 6 years.

The team was destined to do that again next year without a move like this. Losing the depth hurts, but Riley and Spoelstra also good at finding diamonds in the rough.

Celtics just couldn't part with the great Hugo Gonzalez

Yeah, would’ve been much more interesting if he went to the Celtics to pair with Tatum. From a league wide perspective, this doesn’t change the landscape at all.

... that is always going to be the joke, and for good reason, however in reality it was him, schierman (sp?) and three first round picks.

If Windhorst's report that this has caused an all out bidding war for Jaylen Brown is correct, not landing Giannis could end up being a blessing.

I’m going to miss him the most. I also think Kasparas is going to be a good player.

Herro is maxed out and is going to be looking for a big contract, the Heat had to get rid of him.

Jaylen for Giannis also didn’t make any sense for Milwaukee.

Jaylen is good, no doubt, but his contract is atrocious and he’s a downgrade from Giannis.

At least with the Miami package they have some flexibility and cheap talent.

great deal for Milwaukee, terrible deal for Miami Giannis with that roster is not a contender.

If Giannis stays hurt like he has been the Heat are in the lottery next year with this awful roster.

Giannis and Bam make no sense, they should dump Bam for a guard

Imagine they work a deal to swap Bam for Jaylen Brown

Played with trade machine and in order for Boston and Miami to swap Brown and Bam it would have to be something like:

Boston: Bam, Mitchell, Jovic
Miami: Brown

That would make the salary match and leave both teams with just over $30M to fill out the roster. Which Miami would need to do because they'd have like 6 dudes on the roster.

How many of Thanasis, Kostas, and Alex Antetokounmpo will have roster spots reserved for them in Miami? One? Two? Or all three? Big brother is going to want that.

Any team will gladly allow that incredible trio of Mitchell, Wiggins, and Powell to shoot 3s all game. And that spacing between Bam and Giannis? Amazing. That roster is mediocre as shite right now, just admit it. That isn’t a contender.

They’re better than they were yesterday. They traded quarters for a dollar, and were stuck in roster purgatory. They woulda waltzed into next year with another 40 win team and Ware as the only legit prospect. What’s the complaint here for MIA? It was reset or go get a name.

6 threes on 15.3 attempts a game from those 3. That’s not low volume and anything hovering around 40% is very good. And that’s ignoring Bobby Portis’ 2nd in NBA 45%. Throw his in there and it’s 8 on 19.7, which gets you above 40%…

There are flaws in ball handling, play making, and scoring depth, but saying they can’t shoot is not one of them.

Herro is not a playoff basketball player. He’s soft and he hasn’t played well in a postseason since his rookie year.

Herro is from Milwaukee, born and raised, so I'm sure its better than people think for him.

Going to South Beach to Milwaukee definitely requires some...adjustment though

I agree.

Porter (Rollins), Green, Kuzma
to
Mitchell, Powell, Rollins

is a pretty negligible impact.
