I’m pretty sure the only reason they ruled it a TD was so it could be reviewed, like someone else pointed out.
This makes no sense. That play is getting reviewed either way

I made money off Miami winning, but I definitely think VT got screwed. I think vt really won even though I was pulling for the canes

Everyone in this thread who is outraged just wanted Miami to lose.

Old man yelling at cloud:
Rutgers - Is it really legal to have the new blinking LED lights during a timeout? The Rutgers light show is excessive and dare I say unfair during a timeout as teams are trying to huddle up. The Rutgers lights flash on and off and at some point goes completely black out for seconds at a time.

Gotta get real referees at this level
There are none at any level in any sport.
They are about self preservation and adhering to their ‘league’s call.

ACC made a business decision there.
Literally all scripted theater amongst the big players in literally every major marketable sport. Clown theater. And here we are discussing it. We always will.

The ACC really screwed that up badly. Someone needs to lose their job over that.
I freely admit during the game I wanted VT to win, but forget that for now.
I don't really know if the guy caught it or not- but that's what they ruled on the field. Walk-off touchdown.
To overturn it on replay, you need incontrovertible proof it WASN'T a catch. They looked at it for 5 minutes, and every angle I saw, I couldn't tell if the guy had the ball or not.
Remember, you are NOT looking to confirm he made the catch, you are looking for proof he DIDN'T. Otherwise, play stands as called.
After staring at it a long time, the ref comes out and says "overturned, incomplete". Ok, explain why. They didn't.
If you are ruling he did not have control on the way to the ground, and the defender took control of the ball- say that. If you are saying player went out of bounds before control- say that.
You can't just say overturned, incomplete and run off the field.

he clearly did not maintain control after coming down with it. its clear as day in the replay
