it will be interesting to see all the little details once the cars show up at practice. Welcome back, ground effects.

I am interested in seeing the bottom when the first one is lifted up with a crane. Schumacher was famous for pushing his red cars with his hands when they were on the crane to keep the floor tilted away from the cameras.

Bikes on that track have to be insane. That track is a bucketlist item for me. Doesn't even have to be F1. I'd watch any race there. I'll get there some day. Probably on the same trip as my beer tour.

For those who couldn't sleep, Hamilton returned to social media

And in some way I guess confirmed he isn't retiring

This has the potential to be hilarious if Merc and RBR both play it up.

New extremely invasive security measures
RBR with over the top spy gear
Horner employing an official taster of any lunch served
Merc setting up a 1955 car with ground effects and a huge wing

With Williams confirming their launch date we know when everyone will be. Should be a nice steady flow of content leading up to the season opener.

2/4 Haas
2/9 Red Bull
2/10 Aston
2/11 McLaren
2/14 Alpha Tauri
2/15 Williams
2/17 Ferrari
2/18 Mercedes
2/21 Alpine
2/27 Alfa Romeo

2/23-2/25 Barcelona testing, so is Alfa going to skip or run their car then do a "reveal" afterwards?

3/10-3/12 Bahrain testing

3/20 Lights Out!

I'm guessing/hoping we will get a DTS4 release date/trailer any day now and maybe the release will be the first week of March?

March 11th seems right. Seems it is always on a Friday.

Agree, would be great for the sport… Horner show up with a fake mustache and all.

The British press has been milking the shite out of the will he or won't he. BBC today:

quote:

Hamilton's movements in recent days show that he is preparing for the F1 season as he would any other - but that should not be interpreted as a confirmation that he will race this year.

The 37-year-old is waiting on the outcome of the inquiry into last season's final race before making a final decision on his commitment to F1 this year.

In reality, we won't see pictures of the "real" cars until the first test session and even then there may be some holdback. If a team is thinking out of the box and are confident in their off-track testing they well might run a mule for both test session and just show up to Albert Park strike that I meant Bahrain and give it a whirl.

An unnamed source close to the driver is usually code for "my editor wants me to write something and I am guessing"

Truth is Hamilton hasn't said anything, much less said/done anything that would make you think he was retiring.

Read somewhere that Lando was approached by both Mercedes and Red Bull to inquire about his future plans, but that he's comfortable and confident in the McLaren program and was happy there and had no intentions to leave. McLaren have been fun to watch these last few years and have made some good strides, would love to see them fighting for wins soon.

Here's the link to the Red Bull launch stream, starts at 10am. Just incase anyone else is goofing off today too.

Car looks good, but the same. Not a fan of the big tires.

Think the RB colors make it look less futuristic than the demo the F1 showed back in November time.

"Oracle" is on the sidepods instead of the Red Bull wordmark. That's different.

The Haas car had some differences I noticed right away, but the RB18 looks like the F1 concept at first glance. I'm sure more keen eyes can spot the differences.
