Today was safety car assisted but I’m not sure the result changes. I actually commend RB for fighting as hard as they did. Nobody on that track was within touching distance of Ham today other than Max.

I think Hamilton was inevitable but likely would have swapped P3/P4 without safety cars

Either red bull really fricked up the setup this weekend or Mercedes took a huge risk with the engine setup and may have to pay the price with engine degradation in the last three races.

Anyone know how long Mercedes can keep Hamilton's engine tuned up like this before then need to back down? Can they run full tilt like this for the remaining 3 races?

The amount of acrimony and borderline schoolgirl play ground jealousy/drama that Horner and Toto bring to this sport is hilarious to watch.

Anyway, you can't keep a bad dude down for too long, Lewis is one hell of a driver.

Also, sad to see that he literally had to overtake the entire grid on a weeked to be voted driver of the day whereas Max who started and ended P2 somehow almost made driver of the day. No one even thought to consider Pierre Gasly or Leclerc.

Qatar and Jeddah suits the Mercedes car perfectly, Abu Dhabi is a toss up and I honestly don't know how Red Bull gets to the end of this season without changing their ICU and internal components as wear and tear starts to set in.

Looks like the championship will most likely be decided in the last race of this epic season.

why do they even have to try to make them last for 3? Get a new engine every week, run it to the max setting when you can overtake 5 positions in 2 laps

A lot of people lost respect for Hamilton over the years because of his antics despite being the best driver. Today maybe he gained some back and dare I say, RB and Max haven’t been much better lately.

I was putting together the great battles of the year and this probably ranks 3rd place behind VER v BOT and Mclaren v Ferrari.

Just ahead of Alonso vs FIA inconsistencies

Neither Max or Hamilton are likeable people, but often the best in any profession aren’t….

What antics are you referring to? Him fake complaining about his tires being shot at the end of every race? His support for the BLM movement? I'm genuinely curious to understand what makes people hate Hamilton so much, other than the fact that he won a lot? If only some of the NFL WR divas had his level of commitment and discipline when it came to their sport and trade craft, they'd have had more successful and longer careers and Hamilton does not come close to creating a fraction of the drama that the Terrell Owens, OBJs and the Chad Johnsons of the world do. Those other people were locker room cancers, but from all accounts everyone at Mercedes loves having him as a driver for their team.

Complaining incessantly about tires, making excuses, pushing BLM on the F1 field, and then lately running Max off the track earlier this season. But Max too has been hostile lately and I agree he gets away with it.

Maybe ham was winning so much and that’s the reason. The guy isn’t very likable (and neither is max). Maybe that’s ok.

Hamilton and Mercedes making themselves out like a huge underdog is insufferable.

I like Max because he doesn’t apologize. What you see is what you get with Max.

Just finished watching and don't have time to watch post-race. I'm not a Lewis fan, but for there to be no investigation is a slap in the face to a lot of teams this year. I think Verstappen should have been investigated, should have taken a penalty, and if you look at the end of the race, Bottas pushed to close less than 5 seconds just in case. Should have been Hamilton, Bottas, Verstappen finish.

I like my athletes/sports figures to perform and not have platforms. The reason I don't like Hamilton, is just that, his platform stances which I will agree he has laid off some. However, his hypocrisy over climate change and veganism is what tips me over the edge. Look at his sport and sponsor, which he criticizes, yet proudly takes the fame and money.

He was driving a Saturn V on the straights this weekend.

He had 25 spots worth of penalties and still cruised past everyone.

Hamilton issued like 3 apologies last week on Instagram for shite he said post Mexico. It’s nauseating. Then this clown tries to take up issues like climate change. lol. A fricking race car driver trying to talk about climate change.

He lets his PR team try to make him into something he’s not. The fakeness is just too much.

If he embraced being an a-hole he’d be so much more likable ironically.

Just watched because I had shite to do live. The Merc was clearly much faster today. Hamilton was immediately 2 seconds ahead after he finally did make the pass.

Max should have seen the writing on the wall, known that he just didn't have the top speed and conceded the position, but don't act like Hamilton hasn't done the exact same shite. It's been a back and forth season. If the Merc stays this fast, they can't lose.

He has some PR, but he is pretty much the only driver to do his own social media, so some of the stuff he says is unfiltered and probably doesn't need to be said. Then people seek out those opinions just to get angry about them. I also think he takes being accepted (or not offending people) more personal than other drivers.

Hamilton also is held to a different level by the British media than other drivers. You see George already having to do the same type of shite.

Just caught up on the race. I'm very surprised Max didn't get a penalty for that move. I feel that anyone else would have. Hamilton got one at Silverstone for almost the same thing.

So Merc is just going to use a new engine for every race left and take the penalty, right? Hamilton was stupid fast this weekend.
