It's almost frame for frame Albon v Ham from Austria earlier this year.
No it’s not At least not in my opinion.
In Austria Ham was still drifting left even though Albon was in front. He saw him and was purposely still pushing left
Leclerc was straightening. He wasn’t still drifting left. He was wide but that’s on stroll. He’s the one who chose that outside line
There is a difference between taking a wide line and purposely turning into to people
Stroll gave space. Leclerc took it. But Leclerc never turned into him
And Ham does make it hard for people to like him if your not already a merc fan.
At this point It’s almost a caricature of the whiny star athlete that everybody hates and at the end of the movie his girlfriend ends up with the underdog new guy It’s weird. He’s literally dominating everything and complaining about it all.

Investigations happen all the time on lap one.
This isn't turn one either or an incident that happened in the pack.
Opening lap incident that brought an investigation and penalty for Albon.

Honda power units out at end of 2021 for RB and AlphaTauri. Just when Max thought he was going to get a solid performing engine and a chance next year. If RB doesn’t have a solid year next year and/or an even better plan for the replacement PU I could see max leaving for another seat.
Would give anything to see VES & HAM duke it out in MERC.

Honda’s decision to pull out of F1 is apparently part of the company’s goal to achieve carbon neutrality.
Far cry from when they were building monster engines for cars like this:

So Honda puts its money where its mouth is, whereas Hamilton just talks a good game
This sucks, I’m assuming RB will get a Merc power unit?

Totally.
This is why they should have changed the engine formula to make it more enticing for engine manufacturers to join F1. Red Bull could be out shopping the idea of partnering with them to half a dozen companies right now. But the costs to build the hybrid engines is too high for most to even consider it.
Now Mercedes and potentially Ferrari will just strengthen their grip on F1 and keep out any new engines.
2003 had Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes, Renault, Ford, Cosworth, Honda and Toyota building engines. (I don't recall if Ford still owned Cosworth at that time)
2022 will have Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault

I think this is appropriate at this moment

They just switched to Honda from Renault.... and with McLaren leaving Renault for Mercs, one would imagine Renault would be trying hard for RBs business

You'd think so but given the seemingly ugly divorce and how smug Renault/Cyril and how verbal Horner was about their failures I'm curious to see if they put that all aside and come to an agreement.

I hope not...
RB isn’t going to compete with Merc with Renaults under the hood.
They either need to go to Merc or convince Honda to stay in somehow.
Honda is getting obliterated on social media.

Like an ex girlfriend that you dumped for a better version, but now you got dumped so you have that awkward conversation to "catch up" and test the waters

Well you know one thing, they sure as hell dont want to go with Ferrari

I don't think there's a choice according to the regulations the manufacturer with the fewest customer teams must supply a team that needs a new engine package and that would be Renault.
quote:
The two options on the table for Red Bull are to potentially attract a new manufacturer to Formula 1 and, failing that, the regulations state that Renault, the constructor with the lowest numbers of customers, would have to supply Red Bull with power units.

Can't go with Merc, against the rules. They likely won't go with Ferrari or else they would have to have two different manufacturers for Red Bull and Alpha Tauri. If Haas leaves Ferrari engines, which was speculated, then Ferrari would have enough openings.
Other option is someone buying the Honda engine program for a billion or so. Which doesn't seem likely either.
