If I was seb I'd probably sit out and come back when the 2022 regs kick in. Higher risk, sure but his legacy and rep isn't going to improve at all if he's racing for a midfield team in 2021 (using a 2020 car)
Maybe I'm off on this, but I doubt many, if any teams will he pouring development dollars into the outgoing platform for next season

Lol, you think he would rather a paycheck or his "legacy"

He has an estimated net worth of nearly half a billion dollars. I think he can afford to miss a paycheck or three.

Umm yea probably. Dude is worth a shitload and probably wouldn't lose all that much by sitting out a year and surveying his 2022 options vs getting on with a middle of the pack (or worse) team in 2021.

I think Red Bull is content with Albon right now, his pace, while not up to par with Max, was not nearly as bad as Gasly last year. Since taking over that seat, he has had 10 races, and has finished between 4th-6th in all of them with the exception of the two times that he was in line for a podium that Hamilton robbed him of. I think it may ultimately come down to Max, but the only way I see Albon losing his seat this or next year is if it goes to Vettel, and that won't happen unless Max allows it.

Just finished watching FP1, Perez was on top but his car still has that small puff of smoke from last week, I figured the team would try to fix it. Either way, he topped FP1.
Latifi’s Williams retired early with a gearbox issue so maybe signs of more incoming chaos this weekend if they’ve been unable to fix this issue.

God- Ferrari, I have good news and bad news
Ferrari- Good news first
God- Good news is your 1,000th F1 race will be held on your home track
Ferrari- Thats great, now what's the bad news?
God- your car won't be able to win
ETA: Lap around Mugello (Youtube)

Rumors also that investors for Racing Point are telling daddy Stroll if Seb wants the seat, then Lance is out. Sounded like there is interest from Seb during an interview yesterday taking that seat.

3 place grid penalty for Lando for overtaking during yellow flag in P1! Really, P1?
Posted on 7/10/20 at 8:46 am to TheNolaClap
Safety issue, doesn't matter P1 or Quali. The penalty should remain the same.
Kind of sucks for him, he came out of the turn slowed, but the cars ahead of him slowed a lot more. He definitely was able to not pass them though.

Seems it would make more sense to bounce Perez and lose that money then bounce Baby Stroll and lose Daddy's money.

Just saw where FP2 might be used to set the grid as weather may cancel qualifying so teams were planning to push to pace as if this was qualifying.
I like this grid if so. A second row lockout for Racing Point. Hamilton down in 6th. WTF is Haas even doing? WTF is Seb doing in a Williams sandwich? Is Leclerc just driving the shite out of the Ferrari or has Seb just given up?

That was brought up. But money from Mexico is much more then what Stroll has to bring in.

Carlos Slim has a lot of money, Stroll has the type of money that is willing to buy a racing team to give his son a drive.
I don't know, just doesn't make sense to me for Lawrence to buy the team for his son's ride only to take the son's ride away. What reason does Lawrence have to stick around instead of moving his money to Williams?

Seb ran a few decent laps but had the times DQ'd for exceeding track limits. I think his best would have been about what Leclerc put down. They were very strict on 9 and 10.
It wasn't great for any of the cars running a Ferrari engine though.

Horner said Seb would not be at Red Bull next year and Szafnauer said there was no room at Racing Point for him in 2021. Anything could change over the season, but looking more likely his only options may be one of the lower tier teams.

FP3 appears to be cancelled. Haven't seen it officially declared yet.
ETA: Cancelled
Quali likely before the race tomorrow is the word, but could still happen today.
