My thought is, it’s illegal for me to fudge my income in order to get a better interest rate or loan terms. So given that he was knowingly lying about his age his whole career (and using falsified records) can his former teams that signed him (based on a perceived value) sue him to try and recoup damages?

My cousin played him in JUCO. They’re supposed to be the same age. He said Pujols looked 25 then.

But if this guy is making statements like this he better be able to back it up. Pujols went hard after Jack Clark for accusing him of doing steroids. That was about 8 years ago and Clark hasn’t made a public appearance since.

Me too, but I also thought everyone assumed he did roids but not everyone does there either.

I don't think he did roids.

But I sure as hell believe that he's about my age(40 in June) if not 41-42.

Pujols set the national record for intentional walks in a HS season, IIRC. Opposing managers intentionally walked him damn near every at bat of his senior season because they all knew he was too old to be in high school.

If someone was playing a 23 year old in high school, I'd have done the same thing.

If you have ever listened to anything Sampson says, I fully believe the guy. He dosent give a shite and always tells it like it is. Awesome information about how things work behind the scenes.

The frickin Marlins were trying to sign one of the biggest free agents of all time? I do not believe that

The Marlins actually spent money in the 2011-12 offseason. They were moving into their new park. They had new units and changed the name from Florida to Miami. They hired Ozzie Guillén as manager. They had a young core of Hanley Ramirez, Gioncarlo Stanton, Ricky Nolasco, and Aníbal Sanchez. They signed(and overpaid) for Jose Reyes and Mark Buehrle while trading for Carlos Zambrano. They were a "sexy" offseason playoff pick, but It all went to crap early on, and they traded off Ramírez, Nolasco, and Sánchez before the end of the season, while trading Reyes(who had signed a 6 year 106 million dollar contract) and Buehrle(4 year 58 million) to Toronto in the offseason. Guillén was fired, and the rebuild was on. So, yes they did show interest in signing Pujols in 2012.

Yeah, I remember being more surprised by the Marlins not signing Pujols than I was by the Cardinals not resigning him.

They were serious contenders for a while, or at least in the early going for all the reasons you mention.

Like a fart in the wind mantle immediately seized by Mike Trout.

And yet as good as Trout is, his ten year numbers still won’t really sniff what Pujols threw up as a hitter, which is pretty crazy.

*You also wonder what his numbers would be had he gotten into the league at a legitimate 21 years old or so.

Also Trout strikes out way more than Pujols did in his prime which makes what Albert did back then even more impressive

Yup. Simply one of the best power hitting eyes in baseball history.
