Nah, more like a white Scottie Barnes.

Scottie Pippen maybe. Good height, athletic, good all round talent.

So you just named a nearly identical player except Barnes has been statistically more productive than Pippen already in his early career.

They are the same size and both Barnes and Pippen has a 7'3' wingspan. (Flaggs is 7'2")
They are both elite defenders and athletes with similar skill set.

Now some career stats..
Mpg - Barnes 34.6
PIppen 34.9
Pts - Barnes 17.2
Pippen 16.1
Rebounds Barnes 7.5
Pippen 6.4
Assists - Barnes 5.6
Pippen 5.2
Blocks - Barnes 1.1
Pippen 0.8
Both 47% field goal

So if Flagg Is like Pippen than he is also like Barnes, just a better version. Barnes was even being compared to Pippen coming out of college.

Sounds a lot like Flagg here.

Here's a breakdown of why Scottie Barnes is considered a strong defender:
Versatility:
Barnes's physical attributes (7-foot-3 wingspan) allow him to guard a wide range of players, from big men to guards.
Defensive Impact:
He's known for his physicality, smart play, and ability to disrupt opponents' drives and shots.
Defensive Stats:
Barnes's defensive stats, including blocks and steals, show his impact on the defensive end.
Coach's Perspective:
Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic has publicly stated that Barnes is "one of the most elite defensive players in the league".
Physicality:
Barnes is known for his physicality and ability to disrupt opponents' drives and shots.
Tenacity and Instincts:
Barnes is known for his tenacity and defensive instincts, which contribute to his effectiveness as a defender.

A white guy for Duke who is unstoppable in college. Where have we seen this before? He’ll avg 3.7ppg in the NBA

Pretty sure Flagg was considered a generational type prospect... Don't think any of Duke's past whiteboys were that highly thought of

He reminds me of Pippen a lot. We’ll see if he develops into that great of a player.

What part of Luka's defensive game at 19-20 years old reminds you of Flagg at 18 ? Please be specific

no Larry Legend comparisons?

He is half the shooter and twice the leaper. He is quicker but not the passer. He missed a crucial game winner that Bird makes in his sleep: Hell Bird makes that shot today at 65 yrs old. But he is white I guess.

My comp is Scottie Pippen

Flagg has been compared to Bird and Luka.

This is freaking criminal.

Flagg is better from 3 but Garnett was 45% from 16ft and beyond making him an elite mid range guy. Garnett was also elite in the post while Flagg isn't. While it's possible Flagg could be better than Garnett it's hard to say a guy is a HOF player with better handles and a better shooter.

I think the best comp is probably Jayson Tatum.

I heard someone on TV use this comp and after watching him a few times at the end of the year, I think it's pretty valid. Flagg will mature into a Tatum type player, not sure that good obviously, but similar skillsets/size/etc.

There are much better comps in here than KG but if KG came out in 2025 he probably looks a lot closer to Flagg than his game was when he played. He’d be taught to ditch some of the automatic mid range game to develop a 3 point shot, would be better at guarding 1-5, and would be more of a ball handler and playmaker. Also I predict Flagg ends up being pretty automatic from mid range. The miss at the end was awful but he really excels in that area already.

The way Cooper’s body moves I feel like he’s a stretch 4 in almost any other era. Like I think the Tatum/Pippen/Barnes comps make sense defensively but offensively I wonder how often he’s gonna be able to beat guys off the dribble.
