I guess they are requiring the players to be on highly ranked teams since all 3 finalists were on teams with much better seasons. But of all the awards, kicking seems like the one where you can just focus on stats and ignore shite like “oh the QB had 4000 yards but he couldn’t win any games”

He probably wouldn’t, but at the same time, it’s true that whatever team was going to be the best this year was going to clean up on awards if they played a full season since most of college football didn’t. It’s not something that would be possible in a normal season. That just happened to be Alabama this year (or most years if they happened to be a COVID year tbh)

I really don’t care what happens but Devonte Smart should win every award he is eligible for... he is by far the best player in the country this year.......

I thought he was the better qb last Saturday actually when you consider that he did that against the bama defense vs what mac did against a bad UF defense.
But I guess they don't look at it that way.
