Who should have moved up instead?

Ohio St should have moved to 4 given the circumstances but should not have ahead of TCU simply because TCU lost this week while OSU wasn’t playing

You are aware that’s what happened?

A Big 12 team who neither dominated their competition nor won their conference in a down Big 12 year (Big 12 usually sucks and it was a DOWN year) AND didn’t have a strong non-con schedule, gets a playoff spot.

Now we get to see TCU go in as a two-score underdog in its first round matchup instead of a team who actually had the capability of competing for it all.

What a disaster.

Bama’s best win was over the 3rd best team in the “down big 12” by 1 point agaisnt the injured backup Qb

Think about that

Understood. I’m rooting for TCU but seeing a team lose and not move in rankings will never not be weird to me.

Yeah it’s weird but it’d be even weirder to move OSU up to that spot for having done nothing last week and getting blown out at home the week prior.

TCU lost in OT on a neutral field to a team they had already beaten. I’m good with this.

Arkansas fans really have no business discussing things like conference titles and playoff appearances

Now, if a team is sitting at three or four with one loss, maybe zero losses, and they lose their conference championship game, shouldn’t they be penalized just like my above scenario that team is rewarded?
Only if it's in favor of a team that did win their conf championship

I wouldn't penalize a team losing in the title game by vaulting a team over them that didn't make their conf title game.

Ohio State lost at home by three touchdowns last week to the best team in their conference. They’re given a pass
And Alabama has 2 losses that you're arguing should be given a pass, what's your point?

I preface this by saying I may be misunderstanding you but you're saying Ohio St shouldn't jump TCU because TCU lost and Ohio St didn't play but you're also saying Ohio St who didn't play should have jumped USC who played and lost?

Imo that's kind of how it should be.

If you're ranked like 22nd, you play #2 and it's not expected to be close and you lose by 1 point, does that not suggest you're probably better than the 22nd best team? That's more impressive than if the #21 team hypothetically struggles to beat a shite team.

Obviously I'm not factoring the rest of the season, meaning in the moment after week 4 or whenever it was.

Yeah they are.

Tennessee wasn't getting in without Hooker. Clemson choked against the chickens.

And Alabama...

OSU fans, any chance JSN will be available?

I hope so but even then conditioning and timing could be an issue.

Henderson is almost certainly out. He had surgery on his foot.

I get this as a final “ranking”, but Ohio State and TCU seeding’s should be flipped.
