This is the "official" poll from STATS who used to be the Sports Network and get a great barometer of seeding. As always will bold the MVC SLC teams and Italics the Louisiana teams from SWAC.

Some initial thoughts...

JMU and the Dakotas ranked correctly.
Grambling by default ranked
UCA and SLO too low

Maybe tie for it. But they get a HUGE break not playing Eastern this year. They go to SUU though. Davis will be interesting also since they "aren't playing Intramurals brotha"

If Briscoe and Hall just do what they do, they win the SLC easily I think

Not really, but coaching change you never know? I think Hawk is a good coach with no pressure on him and Davis is no pressure.

The best thing Davis ever did was to hire Hawk. Not for it's program, but for SAD broadcasts

This SLU team feels like the one that made the quarterfinals, hard part is we have 6 teams on the schedule that are ranked or receiving votes.

The SLC will be stacked this year, and Sam and UCA could both be national seeds.

Let's not forget...they do not play McNeese this year. Not saying McNeese is going to go unbeaten in conference, but the only real challenges on the SLC slate are Southeastern and Central Arkansas, and McNeese has SLU at home. If SLU upsets Sam in Hammond at the end of October, McNeese has a good shot should they go into the matchup with the Lions unbeaten.

The SLC scheduling is crap. I wish some of these bottom dwellers like Abilene, HBU, and ICW would get the hell out. Our home conference schedule is abysmal, and I doubt our attendance is very good this year.

The Citadel looks like they will have a tough one. They play Samford, Wofford, and Chattanooga in a 4 week span.
